I guess I am basically posting these here for
sameasiteverwas as I think everyone still here is already on my facebook feed. But maybe not.
This is Charlie the first day he came to our house. Skin and bones and stressed the fuck out.
This is Charlie a couple of days later. Less stress.
Poor Charlie is at a trainers for a MONTH. A woman who was with us when we found him, but couldn't take him, offered to pay for him to go, as she has had a lot of luck with her dogs after her (very very expensive) trainer friend had them. Since it was a savings of many thousands for us, and because Charlie is 60lbs of pure muscle and has had no training ever, we took her up on it. I'm sort of regretting it, though, as the trainer wrote us and it seems she's having way more issues with him than we did, including issues we absolutely didn't have, like he LOVED his crate here and ate hers up, and he's been peeing all over the place there and he never had an accident or an on purpose in our house for the almost two weeks he was with us. We're waiting for another update and if it's still bad, fuck it, we're taking him back. I didn't want a dog, I'm totally and completely NOT emotionally ready yet from Blue, but Steve really likes Charlie, and honestly, with the way things are going, there just really aren't a whole lot of other options. He looks to be either part pit or part boxer, mixed with lab, and if a shelter in Georgia thinks pit, he can't be adopted out, he can only be put down. Cannot let that happen, he is so super sweet. Big and won't listen to me and last he was here wanted to eat the cat, but, can't let him die because someone thinks he MAY be part of a breed that has a bad reputation (for no good damned reason). So... we probably have a new dog. If training is going well, he wont be back until early December. :-(
And this is what I looked like when we found him, because we were in the middle of nowhere
east Georgia for our friends' wedding. I even bought makeup, can you believe that shit?
There's more to type, but for now I'm going to go back to my cupcake for lunch and then check on my incredibly delicious
cream of mushroom soup leftovers and finish clearing out my Hulu queue. Seriously, that soup is stupid-easy, and really really tasty, especially now that the temps are down in the 40s and 30s. I do so love winter foods, all hearty and rich and filling and warming.
