Videobangs...so hot right now.
1. Proof - Gwyneth is back for the part. I wish I could see the movie version. Maybe it will come around on videobang while I am here.
2. Shopgirl - The movie adaptation to Steve Martin's last book. Again, videobang, don't let me down.
3. Corpse Bride - ITS COMING TO THEATRES IN KOREA...in November. Nonetheless, I can see it.
4. Broken Flowers - God I love Bill Murray.
5. Sylvia - It was at the Busan Film Festival.
6. Millions!!!!!!! It was so entertaining. It's British cinematography and I loved it. Everyone should rent it! Plus, in the movie TWO Muse songs are played!! You know you want to IMDB it.
7. Taegukgi - Korea's favorite movie about the Korean War.
8. If Only - It's a chick flick...but since all the Korean men like romantic comedy, most of us saw it. It wasn't half bad.
In other news, the children I volunteer to teach called me stupid. Thanks to some other teachers here in Korea, I knew the Korean word for stupid. I told them I knew what they were saying and they gasped. Then, like ten minutes later, this one girl was SERIOUSLY punching the other girl. I told them to stop (in Korean) and she wouldn't. So I left them alone. Next thing I know, the one girl is crying. I ask her (in Korean) if she is hurt and she won't respond. So I do what I assume to be the smart thing. I go get the woman in charge. I tell her someone is crying and I don't know if she is hurt. The lady walks in and talks to the children, who don't answer. The lady then turns to me and asks why I was surprised to see the girl cry. I told her I was worried that the girl was hurt. She looked at me funny and said continue teaching. The girl whimpered for a while. The kids gave me nasty looks. The crying girl refused to talk to me the rest of the day. Then the rest of them said "bye" and left...even though the class was half over. Major culture difference right there. The moral of the story is that I am scared to teach children in another country now. I thought it would be so much fun, but these kids are horrible. Plus I cannot speak Korean enough to teach anyway. I need to be getting paid for this kind of mental detriment.
This morning for brunch I was given cake and for dessert, ice cream. Therefore I am about to go run it off.
