ticketmaster is satan

Man, i havn't posted in a while, but I had nothing to rant about. Kitty was behaving, not much was going on except for work and tv, and then sleep. So i think i'll rant now about my favorite subject...pearl jam.

First off let me say that this has got to be one of the greatest bands ever in terms of how they treat their fans. Priority tickets at lower than TM price for fan club members, official soundboards of every show they play, and rumored dvds of select shows. 3.5 hours at state college!!! Need I say more!? People always want to profit off of such a lucrative band though. They sell individual posters at each show, silk screened by Ames Bros for $20, limit 1 per person. So, of course, limit 1 means unlimited because people buy them all up, hand em to a guy outside who then puts them in a car, and repeat. They are in low print, but they are all over ebay for WAY more than $20. I hate that.

Then there's ticketmaster. In NJ, ticket brokers are legal. So TM has contracts with them and they get hardwired into the system and get priority seats. PJ is playing a show at the PNC Bank Arts Center right around the corner from me and tix went on pre-sale Friday (early for the brokers, a few minutes later for the rest of the world because of KROCK's password fuck up) and then regular sale Saturday. Both times we get through, it's the back of the pavilion. Meanwhile up on ebay there are auctions for the first 2 sections that were untouchable to the rest of us, but the brokers got them. They want like $250 for the section below us and $500 for the first area. For a $40 ticket this is outrageous!! Why does TM let them get the good seats? Is this to make up for the fan club seats we got for the earlier announced shows in the tour (there are none available for added dates)? I mean fucking come on. I get up early, I get in right at 9, and i get the back of the fucking venue!? BULLSHIT! I hate scalpers, legal or not. Ticketmaster is a bunch of jackasses with their contracts with scalpers and their $9 service fees per ticket for me to hit the submit button. And on top of that a processing fee. It's crap.

Back to the best band ever speech. Aerosmith's fan club was $35, and they wanted $600 a ticket for the fan club seats. $600!!!!!!!?????? Thanks for the priority seating you assholes. Corporate america sucks. It goes hand in hand with havin to watch COMMERCIALS at a movie that I paid to see. grrrr

i'm bitter.
