Sorry guys but morning watch sucks....

Hey guys sorry about not updating this in a few days, but morning watch is taking a toll on me. I've gotten an average of 4-5 hours of sleep in the past three days.

Wednesday/Thursday:
My first night on mornings. The shift is 2330 until 0630, which most normal people are asleep. The FTO I'm riding with on mornings is totally different than mine. He's very strict and wants me to do everything thing on my own. There's no problem with that, but it's different. On evenings we're so busy and the traffic is so heavy that if I don't know where something is or if I don't know a quicker way to get there, my FTO will help me out. On mornings I sortof expected the same thing, which got me a little ass chewing for not using the map book. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining because it'll help me out in the long run. Well anyways we had a call holding as we left the first day, a domestic dispute. We arrived and I talked to a woman in her late 20's. Her husband, whom she said was illegal (he admitted to having no SS number and had a S. Carolina driver's license...which you don't need a birth certificate to get). Well they were arguing about her cheating on him and wouldn't let her lay down on their bed. She tried to lay down and he flung his arms and legs outward and kicked her twice. He was arrested for simple battery. Well we ended up waiting for an hour or so to get the warrant. Well the rest of the night was slow. We made a few traffic stops until about 0530. At that time we had a call of a tractor trailer in a ditch. This guy drove his truck on a little two lane road and the fuel pump failed as he was driving up a hill and took it into a ditch. We were there until about 0830 directing traffic. We ended up getting off around 0945 after my simple battery report was kicked back by the Seargant 4 times. Everytime he made valid points which I missed.

Thursday/Friday:
Well today we were down near all the apartment complexes. Unfortunatly there was nothing going on. We made several traffic stops which didn't go anywhere. Finally we went got a call of a burglar in a business, which ended up being a trailer produce stand where someone broke into the trailer and didn't take anything. Next we received a call on the opposite side of the precinct because we were the only units in service. This girl's ex-boyfriend wouldn't leave her house until she called the police. I somewhat knew where it was, but I didn't know the quickest way to get there. I asked which way would be quickest, and was told to look at the map book. I didn't find the quickest way unfortunatly and didn't drive the rest of the night. Well there was nothing to that call and we drove around and decided to make one more traffic stop before stopping to do paperwork. Well this ended up being an 18 year old girl and her friends coming home from a club. Well the girl smelled like alcohol and we pulled her out. She said she hadn't been drinking that night, but then she changed her story to 1 drink 2-3 hours ago, but then changed again to 1 drink 1-2 hours ago. I administered field sobriety and she didn't do too well. She blew a .057 on the alcosensor (wich is close to 3x the legal limit for under 21) and arrested her for DUI at 0430. We took her to the jail and she blew a .067 in the state administered breat test. I hurried and wrote the reports but we still got out of there at 0945 again.

Friday/Saturday:
I was dreading tonight because I only got 4 hours of sleep earlier that day. We were the center car and went to back people up. We had a few traffic stops then went to back up someone on another domestic. This 11 year old girl called and said her dad was drunk and was "being really mean". Well her mom was a fiery woman and was shouting while her husband was just calm. Basically the husband was done fighting, but the wife wasn't. The wife's mother didn't speak english and was flinging herself all around being dramatic. The 11 year old was the most mature of them all. Needless to say there was a call back there about an hour later. Later on we took a burglary report in one of the rougher apartment complexes. This guy went to the movies and came home to find his X-Box, PS2, 4 vintage basketball jerseys, and 6 football jerseys. He said the jerseys alone were worth $2000. I doubt it, but the vintage jerseys are expensive. Anyways that's all we did and luckily got out at 0730 and I had 7 hours of sleep this time!
