I dunno if I should put the banner up because I myself DL the occasional song :/
On top of which, I THOUGHT I was supporting Gackt when I bought a copy of MARS... it wasn't until 2 years after I bought it that I found out it was a bootleg. Even the 6th day/7th night DVD I have is a bootleg, too. And yeah, I didn't find out about it until I searched and searched and couldn't find the DEARS logo :/
:/ Hmph. Well, one of these days when I have money to blow, I'll definetly end up buying all that Gackt stuff I really love and don't have copies for. Mainly the MOON, Crescent, and MARS albums X____X when I'm not broke as hell.
Well, Love Letter was meant to be a gentle gift for fans. Then, I think after that he needed to dabble in some more rockish feel for Diabolos. It was a darker chapter of Moon.
Diabolos was very dramatic. There was that normal, slightly pop-ish sound that came with many Gackt albums that Diabolos didn't have. Many times a Gack song can sound happy, even if the lyrics are sad... Diabolos just sounds as it feels. Perhaps that?
Well, I'm not quite sure it was that. I think there was like... not a good show of force in there. Like- I just listened to Emu~for my dear~ a few minutes ago. And like- that song had like... power and a kick to it. You could FEEL the song. Diabolos is lacking that for the most part :/ MARS had it spread out throughout. Even in MOON, while it wasn't FORCE, it was like... you could feel the mood in the song.

I feel the same... I have a love/hate relationship with downloading. I know what my personal rules are, but it's just me..I don't have a lot of disposable income, so I download something to see if I like it. If I do, then I buy it, if I don't, then I delete it. I DID download Gackt albums ages back, so I could check him out, then I went and bought them afterwards. I have downloaded concerts so I could see which I liked best to buy..I will buy them all eventually, but I can't afford them all at once. As far as albums, the same happened to me..I bought SIX albums, and found out that they were all 6 bootlegs, even though they came from different sources. I have replaced 3 of them now with the real thing, but I still feel bad about it ;_;.
I'm the same way with my anime. Downloading is bad but I have to do that because if I never downloaded a Gackt song (or many of the anime titles in mt DVD collection) I would never have gone out and tacked down all the albums I have and still be greedy for more.
That's where the difference between sampling, or download with intent to buy, and mass downloading is.
I think most everyone in the JMusic fandom got into it through downloading music (at least all of us that have been around prior to YouTube)... However, in my own opinion, a key to the love and support of the things you care about is buying the products.
^_^ I've been a proud Gackt fangirl since Malice days. Back then Amazon.jp was my source and the trick was to learn just enough Japanese to get your order through. At the time Gackt could have been singing about dead kittens and trash delivery, I didn't care I loved his voice.
I guess that is my sore spot with this recent trend to say that all downloading should have dire concequences and how evil the practice is when being in backwater Michigan if it wasn't for that illegal source I would never have become a fan and never would have sank as much money (gods I fear to think how much I've spent on Gackt goodies over the years with shipping fees and other add ones) as I have on the legal (and much better sounding) versions.
