You hated it: that numb feeling that always overcame him afterward. He watched the muscles of Satoru’s back shift as his lover redressed, turned away from You. The older laid on the bed, the sheet only covering him up to his naked waist. The blankets were on the floor. You had pushed them off the moment they had descended onto the bed, so there would not be evidence of their night together.
Satoru tugged his shirt on over his head, a hand trying to readjust his messy hair. You saw him stiffen at the sound of a car engine outside, but it passed by quickly. There were cutting it close tonight. You’s parents would be home any minute.
“Satoru,” You whimpered quietly once he saw that Satoru was ready to leave.
“Yeah?”
“Come here.”
“You-kun...”
“I know, just for a second.”
Satoru leaned over the bed and You slid his hands up his lover’s shoulders, pulling the young man down to him. You touched his forehead to Satoru’s when they parted from a gentle kiss, his eyes remaining closed. “Tell me again.”
“I love you.”
You’s smile was weak, but he let Satoru go. “Drive safely, okay? It’s raining.”
“I will.”
You heard the door to his bedroom shut and he pulled a cold pillow to his chest, wondering if Satoru would ever be able to stay long enough to warm it.

Satoru’s eyes were barely open, trying to figure out who would be knocking on his apartment door at almost three in the morning. He valued the little sleep that he managed to get. He thought it might be pleasant to find a steady, punctual job which might grant him an average greater than fours hours a night, five on a good one. He opened the door, blinking the drowsiness from his eyes. “You-kun?” His lover was standing in the apartment complex hallway, looking as if he had just taken a bath, clothes and all. “Hi,” You said meekly. Satoru could see him shivering. “Can I come in?”
“Of course,” Satoru stepped aside, letting You into the dark room. “What are you...?”
“They found out. Saw you leaving, I guess. Mom threw a fit. Said she’d warned me about you and could not believe I lied to her. Then Dad threw me out. I didn’t know where else to go.”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s not your fault.”
“I should not have waited so long in bed with you.”
“I made you.”
Satoru drew You into a hug. “You’re soaked through.”
“It’s a long walk.”
“Let me get you some warm clothes.”
“No.” You gripped onto Satoru’s wrist, preventing his lover from leaving his side. “I just want to get some rest. You... you can warm me.”
Satoru smiled and dropped his hands to the hem of You’s shirt, peeling off the material that was wet from the rain outside. He then helped You out of his jeans and underwear. “Go get into my bed. I don’t want you to get sick. I’ll take care of these.”
“Thank you.”
A few minutes later, You opened his eyes when he felt the mattress dip. He could barely see in the black that flooded Satoru’s small bedroom, but quickly, he felt the other man’s skin against his own. “Do you need an extra pillow?”
“No.” You rested his head on Satoru’s chest, tilting his face up to kiss his lover’s neck. He felt himself drifting off when he heard Satoru speak softly.
“Move in with me.”
“What?”
“Move in with me. Now that they know.”
You could feel Satoru’s arms around him, helping his body recover from the cold of the rain and night outside. He had never realized how safe it would feel. “Okay.”
