SHOULD AULD ACQUAINTANCE BE FORGOT

“We’re going to be in Osaka in the beginning of July, and Spain on the 20th,” Chacha said as he studied the tour schedules that were spread out over the dining table in his apartment.

“Has Gackt lost his mind?! Is he trying to kill himself and take all of you with him?” Ju-ken asked looking over Chacha’s shoulder. “I’m gonna have to have a serious talk with that man.”

“Where will you be?” Chacha asked, looking over at Ju-ken’s lists.

“Well, let’s see, we’ll be in Sendai and Sapporo in July, and in Spain in October.”

“I know Gackt has plans for a lot of high school lives through the fall, so we’ll be all over the place. Man, we probably won’t be in the same place at the same time until Christmas. Will that be a problem?” Chacha asked, wary of what brought them to their current situation.

“Babe,” Ju-ken said, brushing a strand of Chacha’s hair back behind his ear. “After all it took to come this far, I wouldn’t jeopardize this for anything.” He kissed the older man’s cheek.

It was almost Christmas. Thank goodness You had prevailed, and got Gackt to give up his plans for a Christmas show. Finally they had some time to sit at home with family and friends and do absolutely nothing. The band’s party would be in a few days at Gackt’s house, but tonight belonged solely to Cha and Ju-ken. They’d spent the day cleaning and decorating and now the apartment was quiet, lit only by the tree twinkling on the table in the corner and the crackling logs in the fireplace.

Ju-ken sat with his feet propped up on the coffee table in front of the fire.
His head was propped up in his hand, and he slept peacefully. Chacha lay with his head in Ju-ken’s lap, smiling in his sleep. The ringing phone had Chacha snaking out an arm and fumbling for it. He listened for a minute then held the phone over his head. “It’s for you.”

Ju-ken picked his head up and opened his eyes. “Hm?” he said into the phone. “Sorry, Eriko, you’ll have to count me out, I’ve already got other plans.” He let his free hand toy with Chacha’s hair. “No, I won’t be available then either. Oh,” Ju-ken looked down at the man in his lap and smiled, “probably not for the next 50 or 60 years. Yes, I am; I’m sorry.” He flipped the phone closed and handed it to Chacha, who laid it back on the table. “She thinks I’m a bastard.”

Chacha closed his eyes again. He smirked and shook his head. This had been going on all weekend as, one by one, Ju-ken’s many girlfriends called to invite themselves for Christmas. “How much longer do you think this will go on?” He may agree that Ju-ken was a bastard, but he was his bastard, and he wasn’t giving him up to anyone.

“Oh, probably till July,” Ju-ken teased with a wide grin.

Chacha picked a pillow up off the floor and smacked his lover in the face,”Bastard!”
