Summary: Day 2 of the American getaway.
Notes: I know I am behind, but I think after this one, I will do something else that still follows my theme, "31 Times I told You, "Aishiteru." No one seems to be really liking this one. *sighs* I should be able to catch up by the weekend now that I am done with finals, more or less. Just some studying left and last final on Friday.
Day 8
Day 2 Of Our American Getaway, 2011
Gackt blinked a few times at Sidney to let the worlds she just spoke, sink in.
“Whitewater Ratting?”
She nodded, “Yes.”
“As in…what does that mean?”
“You and your friend friends put on this gear, get in the boats and take a trip down the racing water of New River.”
“Okay…and why do we need all of this stuff?”
“To keep you safe as you go down the rapped waters,” she smiled.
“How fast does this thing flow?” You asked, as he pointed to the river.
“Depends on where you are I guess. Just downstream, it’s a little bit faster than what it is here, which you can tell, isn’t really fast at all,” Sidney replied.
“I don’t think I can handle it,” said Cha.
She smiled, “And why’s that?”
“I’m, well, I am not that young anymore,” he replied.
“Chachamaru-san, we get people here that are 20 to 30 years older than you. If they can do, surly you can.”
“Does it involve heights?” he asked, with concern.
“No, only if you decide to partake in Bridge Day, but that’s not until tomorrow.”
“What is Bridge Day?” Hyde asked.
“When you budge jump or parachute off the New River Bridge,” she smiled.
“Have you done that?” Yoshiki asked.
“Every year,” she grinned. “It’s really fun.”
“I think I will stick to the rafting thing,” Cha chimed in.
“I think I’ll come with you,” added Yoshiki.
“Alright, explain to us what we have to do,” said Gackt.
“Are you sure babe? I mean, you hate the water,” You asked with deep concern.
“As long as you are here and I have safety gear and we don’t go to fast, I think I will be alright.”
“Alright, everyone, follow me into the cabin,” Sidney replied.

A couple of hours later, Gackt was leading the group back to the cabin where they all would be staying for the night, “Oh my god! What a rush!” he yelled.
“I told you it would be fun Gackt-san,” Sidney smiled as she removed her helmet and shook her hair loose.
“How often do you do that?” You asked, grinning.
“Not nearly enough. Only when I am the tour guild for international groups,” she replied.
“Why just international groups?” Cha asked as he pulled his hair out from the band that was holding it, “Ouch.”
She smiled a little, “Because, we have a lot of racist people here and even though we aren’t supposed it be, they voice their options, loudly at times, so, I take the groups. I don’t mind it though, I like learning about different cultures and I feel that times like these, that is the best time, since I doubt I will ever leave the country, let alone the state,” she replied as she set the fire up in the main room and started to hang everyone’s gear up for them as they started to remove it.
“What makes you say that?” You asked as he handed her, his things.
“I barley make enough money to make ends meet, so I can’t save up for any kind of trip. When I do save money it either goes to my car or something that I need, like a new computer,” she replied.
“That’s sad,” Yoshiki said as he sat his shoes near the fire to dry.
“That’s life,” she replied as she started to fix them some hot chocolate.
“Can’t you ask for a pay raise?” KAZ asked as he too removed his hair from the band holding it up.
“I could, but there’s no point. They would just tell me that there isn’t enough money in the budget to give me a raise. I only get one when they decide that they can give everyone a cost of living raise.”
“Wow,” Gackt replied, not knowing what else to say.

As he and You got ready for bed that night, Gackt asked, “You, what would you think about giving Sidney a job with us?”
“To be honest babe, she loves her work here and should would feel out of place,” You said as he got into bed and curled up to Gackt.
Gackt smiled and rubbed his back, “I guess you are right,” he then kissed You, “Aishiteru.”
You was already asleep.
Gackt smiled as closed his eyes.
