Throwing in the towel
As much as it pains me to say this, I can no longer continue with the NaNoWriMo project. My work has increased exponentially and other circumstances regarding work have caused me to pull out.
I didn't write about this earlier, but about a month ago 150 people were let go from my job across TX and NC. 2 from my team and 5 from our sister team met with an unfortunate fate. Everyone was on pins and needles after that. Recently we've begun to relax, but just as that was taking effect, this Monday another one from our sister team was whacked. Being a contractor you expect a lack of job security. This is the normal day to day in the life of a contractor. Since the axe has been swinging I've decided to benefit as much as possible from my current gig. There are certain perks (like free cert tests) that I need to maximize. The my length of my contract is supposed to be 1 year, but as recent events have already proven that is not true. I can still be whacked at any time.
In the end it's the stuff I love that has to suffer as I super focus on my job. I loved doing the NaNoWriMo and I will continue the story I started. I just won't be able to see it thru to the end this year.
