Hoo, two papers and one exam left! I'm gonna make it! ...except not really. I've got to hand in my Irish Literature writing portfolio thingy on Monday and I haven't really even started. I do know what I'm going to write about (Neil Jordan and Derek Mahon make me one happy puppyface) but I'm still lacking most of my sources and aaaaa! *pop*

To avoid thinking about the impending apocalypse, I bought a new game today ♥ Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is a v. v. nicely done adventure game with snappy dialogue, interesting characters and an intriguingly film noir-esque plot. Also? It's pretty damn gay. No, really.

The main character, Kyle Hyde, is looking for his ex-partner, Brian Bradley, who disappeared three years ago (there's this huge betrayal in their backstory, which makes for awesome angst) and, well, he's more or less obsessed with finding his boyfriend ex-partner. I've only played through the first chapter and I'm working on the second, but already we've got Kyle angsting that, and I quote: "Whatever it is, Bradley, I can't get you out of my head." [we also get Kyle's, um, acquaintance, Louis DeNonno, deadpanning that "Nothin' changes. You never had much of an eye for the ladies, Hyde." *giggles pervily*]

Man, I love my gay NDS games :'D

In other gaming news, I've been playing Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, which is a suitably dark yet funny mixture of Sherlock Holmes and the Legend of Cthulhu. Seriously! I love the graphics, Sherlock's dry humor and all the puzzles and fiddling with chemistry, not to mention the great atmosphere. My only complaint is that the game's in first person perspective, which makes me nauseous as hell. I can't play without wanting to barf afterwards D: *shakes fist at developers*

Other PC games I've been really liking lately include The Secret Files: Tunguska (a strong female character! puzzles! adventure! funny humor! snow! a really stubborn penguin! a really, really stupidly done romance that made me giggle anyway!) and Barrow Hill: Curse of the Ancient Circle (scary! no spoon feeding of plot/solutions to puzzles! hilariously bad graphics!). Yayness.

Quick fic recs omg!
luvmeanddespair's Mylar Plaude Crack made me laugh until I cried :'D Oh, Sylar!
whisper132's drabble Problematic made me squee because it's hawt MomoRyo poooorn. *cuddles favorite Tenipuri pairing*
Another drabble by whisper132, Vicious Rumors, is a hilarious take on poor dorky Sanada's cluelessness :'D Oh, Sanada! (read the rest of her stuff, too. all of her drabbles are pretty damn awesome)

...why does musical!Sanada barking out orders sound so damn sexy? D: *listens to Hijou no Tennis on a loop just to hear Sanada roar 'Petenshi!'* ♥

university sucks butt, fannish squee, oh shit it's a weeaboo get in the car, it's a gamer's life for me, fic recs
