It's All About the Music

I'm bored. And my trip's back on for this weekend. :)

As tends to happen when I'm bored, I decided to make a list. Why? Cause it's what I do. So here's where I give myself the difficult task of ranking the OMWF songs. I'm not really including all the songs on here. Dawn's little number and the parking ticket song don't make the list just cause...well...they're not what I think of when I think of the songs in this episode. So I'm being totally selective. Yep.

10. What You Feel - Sweet's song is fun. So very much fun. But I like the songs sung by our characters better.

9. Going Through the Motions - I give major props to SMG for doing her own singing in this episode. No, not the greatest voice. But she pulls it off. And it's great to see Buffy singing while Slaying. Also, singing and dancing vamps and demons. You can't beat that.

8. I'll Never Tell - I like this song. I think NB and EC work so well together and look like they had lots of fun ("Look at me! I'm dancing crazy!"). This number goes on a little too long, though. I so very much wish I could put Anya's "Mrs." from Selfless on this list, but I can't. Ah well.

7. I've Got a Theory - This song? Just fun. With Anya's bunny interlude, and Buffy's rousing chorus. It very easily gets stuck in my head.

6. Rest in Peace - I like the song. I like the choreography. But can I say something that will make me hated by my fellow JM fangirls? I don't really like his voice in this song. The song's too high for him. It sounds off. And I do like his music outside of Buffy. This song, though, just doesn't do much for me. Except the "willing slave" eye-grope part. Yeah, I like that.

5. Something to Sing About - I'm not a big fan of the first part where Buffy's fighting Sweet's henchmen. However, near the end, when she tells her friends she was in heaven...oh, I cry. Yep. Every time. She looks so incredibly sad, and then so desperate when she sings after that.

4. Walk Through the Fire - So much to love about this one. It's the entire cast singing. It's dramatic. It has an addictive melody. There's a freaking fire truck. You must love the fire truck.

3. Under Your Spell/Standing Reprise - I usually don't care much for reprises. But having Tony Head and Amber Benson sing together is fabulous. Plus, I always get this one stuck in my head.

2. Under Your Spell - I'm just in love with Amber Benson's voice. It's absolutely gorgeous. She's absolutely gorgeous in this song. Plus, I love that the lyrics have that double-meaning behind them as Tara literally is under Willow's memory spell at that point.

1. Standing - Words cannot express how much this song affects me. I always cry. Everything, from Tony Head's wonderful performance, to the choreography of Buffy training in slow motion, to the heartrending lyrics of a father realizing he can't be there for his daughter...it's just perfect. Personally, I don't agree with Giles' decision to leave in S6, but I feel for him in this song.

So here, have a wallpaper I made for it a while back.

i love s6, it's a list, btvs
