I don't care about the Super Bowl
I got caught up on The Closer last night. Anybody else watching it? Anybody?
Whatever. I don't care if no one else is. I'm posting my feelings!
Okay, so I have so many mixed feelings on the lawsuit storyline. On the one hand, as a fictional narrative, I was all "You go, Brenda!" with the Turell Baylor thing. But in real life, that would be HORRIFIC! And Johnson's history with due process is...iffy. She's done a whole lot of things that I would abhor in the real world, and a lot of the stunts she's pulled to keep the team together has annoyed me in the fictional world.
So I kinda like the idea of a storyline wherein she's held accountable for the stuff she's done. Though there's always the fear that the story will vindicate her fully and hail her as ultimately correct in everything ever. I'm not sure exactly which way they're playing it, to be honest, though the show's pretty good at giving a nuanced view of Brenda's flaws. I kinda dislike the twist with Goldman ending up being morally bankrupt. There are civil rights attorneys out there who truly believe what they are doing and are not just obsessive worms. (And did he have to be coded Jewish? Really? Come on)
I'm reserving almost all judgment until the story finally plays out in the summer. I know the series is ending, so I can easily see it all concluding with Brenda resigning or somesuch as a result of the conflict.
But my main concern, MY MAIN CONCERN, is who the friggin leak is on the team. Because I am hoping, beyond hoping, begging, praying, pleading that it NOT BE GABRIEL.
PLEASE? PRETTY PLEASE???
I friendship him with Brenda SO HARD. HE'S ALWAYS ON HER SIDE.
But of all the team, I know he's the most likely candidate because, well, he's the rule stickler. He was the one who wavered in the episode, itself, when Brenda let Turell out of the car and ordered him to drive away.
BUT I LOVE HIM AND I LOVE THE BRENDA/GABRIEL RELATIONSHIP SO DON'T THEY DARE MAKE HIM A TRAITOR. Make it be Provenza. I kinda hate him.
Also, Captain Raydor's getting her own spin-off!!!! ♥ ♥ ♥
please let Gabriel be in the spin-off ilovehimsomuch y'all
