Some things require bouts of squee
There are a variety of endings.
Some are disappointing, like DW's S6 ending (for me and I ain't arguing about it).
Some are infuriating, like Xena's ending.
Some make you go, "Huh. Yeah, that's perfect for the show," like Buffy's ending.
And then some make you go, "OMGOMGOMGOMG WHAT DID I JUST WATCH THAT WAS BRILLIANT OH GOD MEDIA ORGASM AUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!"
That's the Utena ending. I cry. Every. Freaking. Time.

Oh god. The duel. Utena fucking winning the duel. Then Anthy breaks my heart. I love her so so much, and she's sacrificing herself again. She's afraid. Afraid for herself and afraid for Utena if she saves her.
Also, I hate Akio.
I couldn't find a video of one of my favorite moments where Akio is yapping on about how awesome he is, and Utena just smacks him across the face and keeps stumbling on to the Rose Gate. Ha ha! STFU, Akio!
I really hate Akio.
And my impression of myself during the scene where Utena opens the coffin and is trying to get Anthy to take her hand.
Me: (clutches pillow while sobbing)
Utena: Himemiya! Take my hand!
Me: ANTHY, TAKE HER FUCKING HAND!
Anthy: Utena-sama! The swords...
Utena: Take my hand!
Me: (squeeze pillow) OH GOD! ANTHY, JUST DO IT, PLEASE!!!!!!!
(Anthy finally reaches for Utena's hand)
ME: HELL YEAH! YOU TWO ARE GONNA SHINE TOGETHER YOU BRILLIANT WOMEN YOU!!! (wibbles into pillow)
NOTHING COULD BE GREATER THAN ANTHY WALKING OUT ON AKIO! The first time I watched this, I had no clue what the fuck had happened, but I knew it was AMAZING and HAPPY so I bounced around the room in tearful happiness cause Anthy was going to find Utena this time.
"Wait for me, Utena." <-- Best damn closing line ever.
Or wait? Is that the closing line or is it the extra after the credits with the "Someday we'll shine together" voiceover? Cause...LOVE.
Also love for how they cropped Akio out of the photo. Hahahaha Akio's a douche.
Okay. I think I'm done squeeing. Now I need to find happy fluffy domestic!Utena/Anthy fic. Somewhere...
