Some recent discussions I've seen have me curious. This poll is relatively simple: Was Buffy over Angel by the end of the series (Not Fade Away, specifically)? I decided to do it as a scale, because a strict dichotomy would probably be difficult.
Absolutely no comics discussion! Pretend they don't exist. We're only working from the TV show. I don'

I'm sleepy, so I chose 10 when I meant 1.
I say one, because, if one were to ignore the comics entirely, "The Girl In Question" would suggest that the guys were over her, and that she was in fact over them. But in a good way, and not in a "whatever" way. Thinking that Buffy was actually in a relationship with this Immortal, presumably a vampire, it meant that she had overcome that whole soul/no soul stigma, which was a nod to Spike, and the fact that she could be romantically involved with another immortal being in front of her friends and family, something that she was only previously able to only do with Angel, meant she was able to have let him go.
I hate the comics for backtracking on all of that.

I don't think we have enough information about the Immortal to even make any sort of guess about what he is. All we really know is that he is very long-lived, which applies to lots of Buffyverse creatures, and PROBABLY is humanoid in appearance.
(Although it actually seems to me that it would be more likely for a creature who WASN'T a vampire to take the name "The Immortal" than it would be for a vampire to do so. Anyone in the Buffyverse who knows anything much about the supernatural knows that vampires are inherently immortal. Someone who isn't a vampire who looks more or less human but is much older than any human should be, that's more notable.)

The Immortal--a vampire so legendary, he doesn't need a name.

Seriously, don't do this! I didn't put my request for no comics comments in there for kicks.
