Poor Anya....yes, this was pretty gruesome. And very effective. Kudos to you.

I don't know that it's the worst I've seen in fic...or even written. (Compare the first chapter of DeadWar, if you don't think it'll freak you out too much...) But it's visceral and very scary. Especially since I was beginning to hope Anya would escape somehow.

Oh, I have no doubt that there's much more graphic scenes elsewhere. I've read quite a few of them. This is the worst I've written, though, and I felt light-headed just writing it. In short: I'm a wuss. :)

I'm glad this chapter had the intended effect. It's interesting writing from Anya's POV because she's very literal and matter-of-fact. It gave her scenes an odd tone.

True dat...I have rarely written Anya because of the time frame I've spent most of my time writing in (post-"Chosen"), and writing her is odd.

awwwww, that's soooo sad :( poor anya :( i think she was probably brave to the end... she's human, unlike spike in canon, so she wouldn't last as long, physically... :( soooooo well done with this chapter, though its utterly heartbreaking
