Last night, while the Admiral and I were in our room discussing the events of the day and the kids were getting ready for bed, Devilla knocks on the door and said, "Can we borrow Mom for a minute?"
I knew what had happen. At the ripe old age of 10 years and 7 months, ConTessa had her first monthly visitor.
Ironically (I don't even know if I'm using it right at this point), this evening was the scheduled talk that the school guidance counselor and nurse schedule for 4th and 5th graders to discuss the upcoming changes in their bodies and emotions.
We still attended and it was still useful - and I knew that it was going to happen earlier for ConTessa than it did for Devilla or myself. However, I was hoping we'd get through the summer without the extra hassle of this to deal with.
