Miscommunication

So, the schedule for St. Thomas's show included set breakdown today. When we arrived at the school to help, we were informed that the stage crew did not want the cast to help break down the set after all. I guess the work is too delicate (the school is newly constructed and this is the first big show we've done on the stage - the administration had lots of insurance based (so they claimed) restrictions on what could and couldn't be built and done to the stage the the technology supporting it. Anyway, apparently they announced that last night and St. Thomas missed it. Which means he and I skipped church for no good reason.

Later today, we went into DC to the first birthday party of the daughter of one of the Admiral and my Naval Academy classmates. She and her husband recently moved to the area and she is a dentist at the Pentagon. It was a crawfish boil which was not exactly up my kids' alley, but the girls liked the baby and other kids present. St. Thomas wanted to go for some reason (even though we told him he didn't have to), but I think he soon realized he would have been better off at home. Still, I think our friend appreciated us coming all that way.
