I have never been much of a house keeper. I like to cook, and out of necessity I keep up with the laundry, but I'm not good at keeping the clutter of three kids' worth of school papers and coats and shoes and toys organized -- and even when the Admiral and I make an effort, the girls are more like me in that respect.
When it was just Saint Thomas, I was much more anal about the nightly routine of putting every block and puzzle in its place -- by the time ConTessa came around, I was overwhelmed.
The consequence of a cluttered house is that the dusting and vacuuming and other basic housekeeping things become harder as well.
I would like to get to the point where I am uncluttered enough to actually keep house, but I am easily overwhelmed and when I try to do it in pieces, I feel that the kids over come what little progress I've made before I get a chance to build on it.
So I watch a few minutes of Hoarders and console myself that I'm not that bad (yet).
