Gabi sighed as she stared at the empty classroom. For days she'd been cooped up with the Death Eaters and for days, she worried that any of them might snap and take their anger out on her. She hoped that she could trust her father to keep her safe, though Gabi knew better than to hold her breath on it ( Read more... )

Blien sighed. It was a terribly boring job having to watch Nott's daughter. But still, he did it with no complaints. At least it was better than being outside in the freezing cold.

"Holding up, 'lright?" he asked.

"I'm fine," Gabi replied with a steady tone, folding her arms over the desk. "Just tired is all."

She stared at the man another moment before looking away, toward the window. It was snowing outside and Gabi was stuck there in that corridor with some of the most feared people she could think of.

It was a drag, to say the least.

"Why were you three up here anyway?" he asked curiously.

It did seem a bit odd. One Slytherins hanging around two Gryffindors. And she did not see the type to do such a thing willingly.

"If you don't mind me asking."

Gabi lightly drummed her fingers against the desk and shrugged her shoulders.

"I'd gone for a walk to do some thinking and I ended up here. And I just so happened to run into the two Gryffindors. I have no idea what they were doing up here."

"Interesting," Blien said, mostly to himself.

He sighed and found it hopeless. He was not going to magically run into his daughter. She was far away.

She looked up at him with an arched eyebrow before shifting in her seat, crossing her legs at the knees.

"So, why exactly is it that you're in this nasty business. Why not cauldron sales or something?"

"Did it for my dad way back when," he explained, not hesitating at all. "And my wife thought it made me more dashing."

He laughed at the thought of his past. When Ea was pregnant and wanted somebody strong and brave to support them.

Gabi shook her head. What people would do for the ones the loved. Or, at least, the ones they pretended to love. However, Gabriella really couldn't talk, seeing as she was sitting there because she wanted to please her father and spare her mother.

"Do you like what you do?"

"Sometimes," he admitted. "It eases my mind to know that this is the reason we've kept our daughter, Morag."

"Morag - Mori? Mori's your daughter?"

Gabi leaned back in her seat lightly, her eyebrows knitting together. Well, the man didn't need to know that his daughter and herself didn't necessarily get along.

"I can see the resemblance."

"You do know her, then?" he asked.

Blien always hated the fact that Morag made people call her Mori. Mori was a stupid name, he thought.

She nodded, noticing the bit of distaste flash across his face. "Yes, I know her. Not well. But I've...talked to her before."

Gabi folded her arms loosely, relaxing in the cool, hard seat.

"I hope she's behaving herself," Blien muttered, mostly to himself.

He turned to the hallway and looked down each way. It was barren.
