It was late into the afternoon when he returned to his rooms. It was quieter than usual. Savannah was normally either up doing whatever occured to her at the moment, or crashed on the couch in front of the television. As she wasn't in the Sanctuary, he assumed she'd gone to visit the twins or Ali. This assumption didn't last as he walked into the kitchen and found the breakfast dishes stacked on the counter beside the sink, remains of food still clinging to them. None of them were neat freaks, but all three of them had the good sense to dispose of food instead of letting it set out on the counters.
He hesitated, unsure of where to begin. It could simply be a coincidence. Alice came in, and they both went up to the roof or wherever they go when they're bored. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Z had been there when he'd left. Had he been there when they'd departed as well?
He was attempting not to panic. This was, after all, The Shop. People might escape but it was rare that they were ever lost.
Biting back his guilt, he closed his eyes and did the quickest thing he could think to do.
Z? Are you there?
