Hooray! I've started Fallout 3. Five minutes after the final cutscene of Fallout 2 had ended I was firing up Bethesda's new game. Then I was downloading the patch so it would actually run. I'm glad I didn't want to play it when I got it!
A heavy cold has kept me off work for a couple of days, so I was finally able to finish up with Fallout 2 (thanks walkthrough writers). I thought it was much the same as Fallout 1, but with more hookers, and slightly less annoying party member management.
Here's my first Fallout 3 character. His name's John Samson. He's 19 years old - like everyone's Fallout 3 character. This is a picture of him in Megaton, the first proper settlement you come to.

I finished Fallout 2 at about 11:00 last night, and my intention was to play through character creation and then go to bed. I did go to bed - at 06:45 in the morning, and got up at 9:30 to go to work. Oops.
