Thank you, everybody, for another great year of Gabriel Big Bang. We ended up with fifteen fics, which is definitely a respectable number, and there's definitely some gems there!
Don't forget you can add your fics for this year or any previous year at the AO3 GBB collection. Have fun, and happy hours of Gabriel reading!
Warnings/Spoilers: Mentions of bestiality and rape.
Summary: Given a choice, Dean wouldn’t actually be nursing the archangel who screwed him and his brother over several times back to health. Neither would he go on a road trip with the angel to look for said brother. Not that he was given options, of course.
Warnings/Spoilers: Violence, bullying, off-screen character death (John Winchester)
Summary: Gabriel has had enough of Heaven and its rules and regulations. He Falls to get away from it all. Only, something goes wrong during his Fall.
Instead of ending up as a human, Gabriel finds himself trapped in the body of a dog - one of the four faces of his true form. To make matters worse he's hit by a car and taken to the local pound.
He manages to get himself adopted by Sam and Dean Winchester, much to the disapproval of his brother, Castiel, an angel who Fell from Heaven to be with Dean. Sam and Dean are struggling to recover from the death of their father a few months earlier. Getting a dog is supposed to be the first step on the road to healing, but Gabriel only causes trouble.
Despite himself, Gabriel begins to care about Sam and Dean, and about their fractured family, but his attempts to help nearly get Sam taken into care.
Summary: Thousands of years before Sam and Dean Winchester kick-start the Apocalypse, Gabriel leaves home and abandons his name. People call him Loki now, and he quickly discovers that his new identity is so much more than a clever cover and a fake name. He soon faces danger, adventure, giants, battles, monsters, and prophecies as he struggles to adapt to a world that he might be destined to destroy. Draws heavily from Norse mythology.
Warnings/Spoilers: discussion of traumatic events, including medical torture in line with original Firefly canon.
Summary: For ten years, Gabriel and his motley crew have traveled through the black on the tempestuous ship, Morningstar. It's a hard life, complicated by Gabriel's other persona as Loki and an uneasy relationship with Alliance. When two mysterious passengers come aboard, everything will be threatened.
Genre/Tropes Multi, angst (some whumpage, ish, I think)
Rating: Teen
Word count: 38,234
Warnings/Spoilers: Brief non-con, semi-graphic descriptions of violence, depression, Spoilers through Season 7, AU pre-Season 8.
Summary: "Jess was sitting on the porch of her parent's home in Heaven when the Archangel Gabriel found her. He was shorter and more human-like than she'd imagined."
In which Jessica Moore learns that there is, in fact, life after death if you know the right Archangels, and that love isn't limiting.
Summary: Superpower AU. The Winchesters have little interest in a petty thief who goes around stealing items of no street value. This changes, though, when they figure out that Gabriel isn't working alone. Who is he working for, and what interest do they have in a set of four, seemingly useless rings? The Winchesters are about to find out, the hard way.
Warnings/Spoilers: Character death (temporary), dog grief (also temporary), gastro porn, pranks, other character deaths, zombie chicks, drunken women, Doctor Who, Star Trek and X-files refernces, swearing, trickster grade roofies, alien abduction, alien non-con with a beaded object, SamImpala, demon blood (and the drinking there of), angel vessels, teasing, flirting, mentions of prophets, warm beer (inferred).
Summary: Mel Brooks once said, "Tradgedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die." Somehow Gabriel seems to have taken these words to heart, on more than one occasion. Especially when those occasions happen to collide with the interferrence of certain hunters; namely Sam and Dean Winchester. Even zapping his baby brother out of the way so that he can get away with it, if it happens to come up, then it comes up. Then he gets a one way trip to Surprise land. However there's a bigger picture here, not just the lessons from a frustrated old archangel. Who is trying in vain to convey to those two knucklehead Winchester Brothers. But something else. Something bigger than a stinking prize fight; and Gabriel and Sandy know it.
Warnings/Spoilers: canon references to the end of s4 and up to ep19 in s5
Summary:
Shocked to find out about his own imminent death, Gabriel decides to do something about it. It involves ingratiating himself with Team Free Will. He makes new friends, rekindles his relationship with his younger brother and despite best intentions (well, sort of) to the contrary, changes a few things along the way.
Warnings/Spoilers: Canon-compliant character deaths. Explicit sex with M/M, M/F and F/F elements (but only John/Mary/Gabriel). Sometimes Gabriel is Kate. The Michael/Adam is angelcest. This is mostly a pre-series, somewhat canon-compliant AU but contains spoilers up to 8.12 "As Time Goes By".
Summary: Gabriel's been watching the Winchester and Campbell lines for centuries. When he sets eyes upon John and Mary for the first time, he starts developing feelings. Gabriel isn't going to let Michael use them and their family for the apocalypse. Even if Mary and John never feel the same way about him.
Warnings/Spoilers: Takes place after "Mystery Spot".
Summary: In the aftermath of fleeing from the Trickster and the Tuesday that would not die, Dean begins to experience what he thinks are dreams. Different places, different names, different times, but all have the Trickster in them. And all end in pain and death. Is the Tuesday from Hell going to happen on a Wednesday?
Genre/Pairing: Sam/Gabriel. Side order of Cas/Dean. Past Sam/Brady.
Genre/Tropes: AU romance
Rating: NC-17
Word count: ~34,000
Warnings/Spoilers: A multitude of references to various pop cultural sources.
Summary: Subscribing to a honey trap agency's services to investigate his brother Dean's possible infidelity, software engineer Sam Winchester is not prepared for the strange and very confident little guy that the agency sends to take care of Sam's case. Soon Sam is entangled in a net of lies that threatens to destroy his chances of winning back the love of his life.
Summary:Squaring up is hard to do - moreso outside of the species. Gabriel wants to get married, properly married, with two wives and a husband all properly aligned. And all he needs to do is get Sam and Jess to let him, a sub-adult blue, into their relationship, and then find a suitable red-moiety female angel who'll agree to the arrangement. Simple, right?
Pairing (if any): Gabriel/Sam, Dean/Castiel, one sided Balthazar/Castiel
Rating: NC-17
Word count: 30,557
Warnings/Spoilers: Some explicit sexual situations, language, assault.
Summary: Gabriel’s never been very much good at anything in life, apart from cooking and entertaining a crowd. It only makes sense that he should try and bite off more than he can chew by becoming a TV chef. While Kitchen Heaven succeeds in their small home state, it’s not exactly the household name Gabriel wants it to be. With the help of his brother-producer-financial backer Castiel, and newly hired assistant Sam, he’s going to try and get syndication from a national network. It’s hardly as easy as pie, and it only gets worse when Sam’s trouble-making brother turns up and the studio owner sets his sights on Castiel.
Warnings/Spoilers: slash, gender bending, het, food!sex, oral, toys, dom!Gabriel
Summary: Despite millennia of steering clear of his family, Gabriel found himself completely unable to resist looking up the two vessels destined to allow his brothers to end it all.
Fic MasterpostArt Masterpost
Pairing (if any): Emotionally, Castiel/Dean/Gabriel. Although the only actual sex is Dean/Gabriel, all the relationships draw on elements of romance and the erotic in places.
Warnings/Spoilers: Spoilers through to the end of season 7. Various forms of PTSD, as we’d expect of Dean and Castiel following the end of season 7. Moderate angelcest. Slightly sexual dom/sub elements (used to a specific therapeutic end rather than as a regular dynamic in the relationship), including edgeplay and not-exactly-mindsex. Moderate-level sexual situation initiated by a character who isn’t capable of fully conscious consent. Amnesia. Strange narrative voice, as the P. O. V. character begins the story semi-formless in mind and body, and the narrative style gets clearer as he relearns himself and the world around him. Swearing, in Dean and Gabriel’s dialogue and (increasingly as the story progresses) in the narrative voice.
Summary: A Purgatory fairy tale. Finding Gabriel in Purgatory is only the start. Steeped in Purgatory’s Lethe effect, Gabriel has forgotten everything about himself and the world - or has he? Dean is determined that he’s getting all of them out Dick-land and back into the real world, but when one angel doesn’t believe he deserves to get out and the other one doesn’t know what out is, that’s easier said than done.
Sequel to La diritta via era smarrita. It isn’t necessary to have read it to understand this, but it's only 3500 words, so it’s really more of a prologue.
