Ah, football season. How I've missed you.
Now I just need the Broncos to step it up. Letting Jacksonville lead 17-14 in the fourth is one thing, but if you guys start the season with a loss, I'll be peeved. Meanwhile, the poor Raiders are being massacred by the Titans (38-13 in the fourth). My brother-in-law is a Raiders fan and we used to really razz each other about our respective teams, but the Raiders have been so bad for so long that I just can't. Oakland, you're harshing a family in-joke. For heaven's sake, learn how to win a game. I'm not surprised to see the Patriots bashing the Bengals (38-17 in the fourth), but I am startled to see Detroit leading Chicago 14-13 in the fourth. Not bad at all, Lions. Hang on to that. The Cardinals are playing one of the afternoon games; I hope that's televised here, because I'm very meh about the other ones. And Monday Night will be a doubleheader, and one of those games is San Diego-KC! That's a good rivalry. Always assuming, of course, that neither of those teams sucks this year.
I feel whole again. :D
ETA: So, the Broncos lost (grrr), the Raiders lost, the Lions lost on a controversial call (apparently the ref acted in accord with a new rule? I need to look that up, because that was a Lion touchdown and it should have been their game), and the Cardinals/Rams game was awesome, and the Cardinals won. The Redskins/Cowboys game was rather boring until the final play of the first half wherein the idiot Cowboys ran a running play rather than a Hail Mary or a kneeldown even though they had NO CHANCE of scoring and the Redskins forced a fumble, picked it up, and ran into the end zone. Things got interesting after that. :P (Redskins won! I don't care about them so much, but I hate the Cowboys.) This was a very good start to the season. :D
