gab log: april 11, 2004 still Easter sunday...

It's been a while since i actually updated this journal, but then again, if you were stuck in Pangasinan without any internet would you? haha That's right..i've been stuck in Pangasinan for the past how many days, and was only able to get hold of my PC tonight!haha anyway...nothing new has happened except for the fact that i was eaten alive by mosquitoes in Lingayen!!! haha Had to go there to help my uncle campaign cause he's running for board member...god knows why.. haha so if any of you people reading this are registered voters in Pangasinan, Vote Pep Bengzon!! haha It was a hassle and all to help him campaign, but i have to admit that it kinda makes you think about how important each and every vote is.. Your really struggling to convince people to vote for you, and it's no walk in the park!..believe me! haha First thing my tito told me was, "Shake their hands, keep on smiling, accept anything they offer you and just wave alot!" haha The good news was that i managed to pull off the smile, wave and shake technique, but the bad news was that i couldn't understand what on earth they were saying!!! i admit that i am not the best filipino speaker, but when it came "pangalatok"(i think that's the language?), i din't know shit!!! haha!! i just kept smiling and saying Yes to everything they asked..god knows if they asked me anything embarrassing..i just kept saying yes! haha And if the whole campaigning thing wasn't enough, the only food there was to eat was FISH!!!!!!! i hate fish!!! can't stand it!!! haha Yet, here i was, in a province that makes their income by catching the stuff...it's no wonder that everywhere i went, i could see it! haha But lo and behold, there was still hope!! Jollibee!!! haha i just feasted on the palaboks the had till i couldn't eat any longer! haha Anyway, all in all, the trip wasn't so bad.. i have to remember that Lingayen is my province.. it's where my grandparents met, fell in love and eventually got married in.. It's where my mom and her siblings spent half their childhood in... and it is some place i can always escape to and seek refuge in if ever i am sick of all the hustle and bustle of the city... (only prob is it'll take me 5hours to get there...but what the heck are road trips for?haha) Long live Lingayen!! haha oh, and remember... Vote Pep Bengzon for Board member!! haha!
