which, by all of my accounts is good. There was a possibility of this as my friend and I decided to go on a crazy long hike, but when we reached the top of a hill, and looked to to see our destination, we said 'fuck it' and sat down. As much as I wanted to get up to that damn rock outcropping, I wasn't really up for another 2 miles (steep) up hill. However, I got further on the trail than the last time 4 years ago (back when I hadn't seen sun in 3 years) so even though I have a lot further to go, I do have a sense that I am healthier than I was. So yes, 3 years later, I am still happy with my decision to derail what I thought I had and head into parts unknown.
I loved the hike. And in addition to the scenery, saw some interesting people namely:
~the idiot what was 2 miles into the trail with shiny white tennis shoes and calf socks, a polo and no water
~the lady 1/2 mile into the trail with a parrot on her shoulder. (yes, a bright green parrot).
In other entertainment, my cousin and her kids are visiting. My mother is going into full-on grandma mode. The disney movies are out and the house is decorated for easter. The kids are cute, if tiring for me after my weekend. I was happy though when they remembered me. "You visited my house!" Yes, yes I did. Made the mistake of leaving my door open while I made a phone call last night.. little one took that as an invitation to come in and look at all of my stuff "You need to clean!" Gee thanks.
