Gotta do some more movies

Grennie - I saw your review on the directors cut and I think we are on the same page with that one - can you tell me how he accomplished the theater cut. BTW - kudos on the "cut" ;~)

Alright, in desperation we got "In The Cut". my apologies to anyone who saw this and liked it. I thought this was a collosal piece of cheap shots crap - the acting, puhleaze, everybody just walked around like a zombie and not even very menacing ones at that. This movie was all talked up about Meg Ryan as you've never seen her, pffft, to that, she did much more dimensional performances in several other "serious" films and she actually had an expression, her faked orgasm in "Harry/Sally" looked more real that the faked orgasms here and I didn't even think the H&S ones were that good.

What no one mentioned about this movie, I guess they were so blown away by the "hot" (oh give me a break) sex that they didn't notice that it was really mostly one big splat fest of unnecessary gore and not the kind of gore that you can come to accept a la "Kill Bill" this was unneccessary gore made personal, and yes, it seems that every damned movie has to have at least one "head scene" these were some of the worst and most gratuitous I've ever seen.

There is not one thing about this movie that is even almost good, coulda been good.

Can you tell I really hated this film and truly feel like it was the epitome of the cliche` "there time I can't get back". Yuck.

Taking Lives:

This was OK, it really was. It was certainly way better than the above mentioned piece de crap. I didn't have any problem with Jolie in the role, it seems some critics can't handle the more gorgeous actresses playing anything but "gorgeous" but hell, almost everyone is too gorgeous in the movies so you have to adjust the standards a little.

Another gross head scene although not in the same league as "In the Cut" if you want to see the movie and avoid that just don't look when the "bad guy" is coming out of the elevator and Jolie is waiting to catch him. No great film but certainly acceptable even enjoyable for a time passer.

I'm going for comedy next - if anyone gets their head wacked there I quit ... disgusted at the state of films
