American Pie 2:

I like this one best of all three of these movies. Yes, they are crude, rude, but also hilarious. I never was a teenage boy, and these movies sparked some interesting conversations between DT and me about our growing up experiences.

I remember that realisation of love (Jim and Michelle) and it coming in strange places. They are just funny movies...sure, they make you cringe, but I think there is probably a bit of truth in there too. Everyone knows someone like those characters, and you can remember them from school and college times. About figuring stuff out in life like having long distance relationships or how to be friends with your ex. It's fun.

Punch Drunk Love:

You definitely feel for the lead character Barry Egan (Adam Sandler) in his having been dominated by seven sisters and having his life constantly thrown back in his face. He gets a lot of hassle from a lot of places and he does freak out. It is a visually interesting and slightly weird movie but I quite enjoyed that. It is visually difficult to manage though, there's a lot of cut away - much of it clever, much of it quick, leaving you to catch up with what you are seeing.

A peculiar movie that I'm glad I saw. It's taken me a couple of days to come to that conclusion but I went and looked up a bunch of stuff on the 'net about it (reviews, synopses) and I feel more understanding now. I felt like there was something huge I didn't get, and I hate that feeling. It was quite sad and sweet underneath all the weirdness and they are likable central characters. Love does with through. And Pudding.
