Summary: [Coming up two and and a half years old] Gabe nodded, still trying to punch his heart into submission where it kept trying to beat up into his throat again. For all he knew Pete Wentz had come over to say hi and deliver the in-person version of a standard rejection letter, and Gabe tried to prepare himself for that. With everything - in all honesty, everyone; William and Riley - in his life, Gabe had kind of given up on Cobra getting Somewhere and resigned himself to a side career of playing in local clubs and bars. And he’d never regretted that in any real way, but with everything he used to dream of staring him in the face just then, possibly about to get dashed for what’d be the final time, Gabe let himself mourn for a moment.
