Young Justice Mid-Season finale
This one goes first cos I had it written out already. XD
Young Justice is on a mid-season break/summer vacation.
I was not comfortable with the whole 5 year timeskip at first, but as the episodes went on I realised it was because we were missing a heck of a lot of backstory and I hate not knowing backstory. (Proof of this being catching up on 100+ episodes of IPKKND in a week. XD) There were two episodes I didn't get to fangirl about. First, the episode with Impulse. Of course, my reaction was like this:
Click to viewIMPUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULSE! *weeps and dances* I never, never, never thought I'd get to see Bart Allen/Impulse in animated form. And in an episode written by PAD! My fangirling knew no bounds, much to the annoyance of my sister. XD Bart's a little darker in this version, but still has his too hyper for life charm.
Important things:
- Beast Boy now knows Nightwing and Robin's secret IDs. And if Gar is smart, he'll end up figuring out Batman's too.
- Impulse does River Song's "spoilers" thing but it's cute coming from Bart.
- Wally's too big to be Kid Flash.
- Awwwwww, Bart hugging the speedsters. ♥ This kid is too cute. It's pretty obvious he never got to meet Barry (and Wally from the looks of things ;_;)
- It seems Wally is not as powerful as Barry, maybe this is one of the reasons why he retired?
- Bart's "stuck" in the past. His machine was only a one-way thing. His future is dark and horrible, and it's hinted at (a LOT) that Barry Allen is going to die. Especially since saving Barry in this episode only helped that guy, but didn't change the dark future.
- Nightwing is forever awesome.
- If Barry's like this in the comics, then I can see why people like him. Still don't get the love for Hal.
- There was a parallel story with Roy and Cheshire going to find the original Speedy, and taking baby Lian with them. THEY FOUND SPEEDY! Is time for la drama!!
Then the next episode, half season finale! All I can say is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Main points.
- Carol Ferris!
- I think I saw Jimmy Olsen too!
- Tim Curry!
- Connor (from a distance) and M'gann are posing as their adult counterparts so the world doesn't know some of the leaguers are off world.
- Artemis going on a final mission. I FORETELL SADNESS.
- Nightwing is still awesome.
- Oh Aqualad. I liked you. Why you evil?
- I don't get why Black Manta's gotta do these little things to get into The Light. He seems pretty badbass on his own. It looks like Ocean Master (aka Aquaman's bro) got kicked out, I wonder what happened!
- Shiiiiiiit! M'gnn fiddled with Connor's mind!! She made him think they broke up cos he wouldn't age! But they really broke up cos he didn't like her lobotomising people! GIRL! That's wrong!
- The voice acting from Connor's voice actor was amazing in this scene. I felt everything he was saying, that doesn't happen often with me and cartoons. (Apart from One Piece, but that's special :P)
- Ohhh, Aqualad stabbed/killed Artemis! Wally's gonna kill you!!
- I do not like Lagoon Boy. Is it bad I don't feel bad that he got captured? XD
- Ooooh, Bludhaven!!
- Awwwwwwwwwww, Nightwing still has the picture! ;_; This kinda confirms that Artemis doesn't know his secret ID yet. She called him Nightwing at the start of the episode too.
- Awww yeah! Kaldur wasn't evil! ♥ I'm sorry I doubted you!
- LOL, does this mean that Artemis was awake when Nightwing was giving her mouth to mouth? Awkward!
- Only Wally, Artemis, Kaldur and Nightwing know what's really going down.
- AH! THIS IS WHAT BATMAN MEANT WHEN HE SAID "YOU AND YOUR TEAM!" IN THE FIRST EP OF THIS SEASON! Papa Bats, why you so awesome?
- Oh ho! Nightwing and Zatanna, bow chika wow wow?
- LMAO, why did Aqualad and Nightwing turn away when Wally and Artemis kissed? That's so random! It was so funny though!
- Damn, no more til September! ;_; The cliffhanger's not too bad, so I can wait!
