Jyoou no Kyoushitsu (The Queen's Classroom)

I watched this drama a little while ago, it was really good. However, I wasn't expecting what I got at all. I've been watching a lot of lighthearted dramas lately, the only really heavy one I can remember watching was 1 Litre of Tears. This drama was very emotional and very dark, but (unfortunately) somewhat realistic in regards to human relationships and behaviour.

Warning! If, like me, you can't take watching kids being bullied, kids being emotionally turned inside out or general darkness related to bullying then be on guard if you watch this. I was seriously contemplating not finishing this drama by the 3rd episode because I was crying for the main kid characters. In the end, I powered through with lots of comedic relief on standby because the story does make sense in the end. There's also two special episodes (that you have to view after the series, not before otherwise it'll ruin it!) that show why Maya turned into the teacher she is.

Amani Yuki! ♥ She was really scary in this, I haven't seen her as scary before! XD The fact that she could keep a stone face when the kids were crying in front of her amazed me. I've got to watch more of her dramas. Especially since she also has great comedic timing.

It makes me wonder if they did this ending on purpose, so that everyone could remember that she's not actually all that scary. XD

The kid actors were awesome, seriously. They were so cute, but when some of them turned to the dark side, I forgot all the cuteness and was seriously angry with them. They made me forget that they were little kids! I could've smacked that Erika girl, I swear! XD Shida Mirai was especially awesome, I cried for her a lot. I don't think I could've been that strong at her age especially when everyone except Yusuke and Shindo turned against her. So sad!

There was a point to all the horrible madness, but I still couldn't agree with it. I could see where Maya was coming from, but still. They were too young to be put through all that, but then maybe because they were that young the lesson was better learnt? The class crafts project they did was so heartwarming, I cried all over the place, lol.

So yeah, great drama if you like angst! There's a lot of it! XD You may need something like Hana Kimi on standby afterwards.
