After all that hullabaloo about IT'S A SECRET, NO-ONE WILL KNOW WHICH ONE OF THE FANTASTIC FOUR DIES UNTIL YOU HAVE THE ISSUE IN YOUR HANDS, WE'VE EVEN PUT IT IN A POLYBAG SO YOU CAN'T FLIP THROUGH IT IN THE SHOP stuff from Marvel,
imagine my surprise when I wake up and it turns out they leaked it to the press anyway. Good thing I don't have Yahoo! as my homepage. XD
So, who died? Well, if you want to be spoiled, click on the cut! (I get to break out that Gokusen gif I've been saving!)
LAST CHANCE TO TURN BACK. XD
Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, will die in issue #587.
He was my favourite character in the book, and one of my favourites in the Marvel universe. So I am annoyed to say the least. XD
The annoying thing is that it feels like it's just for shock value. The whole run of this current story has felt like Reed was going to die. Valeria's now as smart as he is, he's passed on a lot of stuff, set up the Future Foundation. Even though it may have been the obvious choice, it would've made the most sense and probably meant a lot more storywise. With Johnny dying, it will have fallout but it won't make much of a dent storywise as he hasn't been in the comics much recently. Ironically, most people (me included) thought it would be Johnny that died just because of how comics have been recently. :( And now, some more gifs as Marvel has proved it has a hate-on for me, and is killing off my favourite characters all over the place.
I will still read the story, because even though I do not like this development, Hickman's run has been awesome and I will at least read it til the conclusion of this storyline.
Between killing off Nightcrawler, turning Spider-Man into Spider-Ho and possibly killing off the only real Peter Parker left in the comic books, I sometimes feel like this gif (with Marvel being the chimp and me being the dog):
Like they'll see how much they can get away with before we get pissed off and feel like doing this (with me being Oguri and comics being the girl, haha):
If they didn't have PAD and Bendis still writing books for them, I'd drop all Marvel books. It's getting really ridiculous. I dropped all my DC books cos I couldn't take their crap. Even though Red Robin looks good. :( I'd get it, but then just as I really start to like the book, they'd tie it in to one of their massive buy 50 comics a month crossover events and it'd piss me off again.
A cute gif to end the post, cos I need it!
And there we have it. I was just about to squee about how awesome Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes was this week as well! (Holy crap, I think I love Thor! ♥ Always loved Hawkeye though, haha.)
