I am super excited but a lil sad that 70 years later is enough to warrant a darker, more mature Avatar series. D8 Who be the bad guis now? What they dun did?
Even though I know he has to die in order for the next Avatar to come, I'm sad Aang's dead! Maybe cos we only know him as cute little Aang? Haha, if Korra gets to speak to his spirit, I'll probably bawl like a baby and freak my sisters out. XD
Sadly, that reflects human nature a little too well. Even though we've seen the bad, people still do bad things. :( It looks like it'll be an X-Men style "we hate people with bending abilities" type thing. It might also be that during the time that Aang died and Korra was growing up, some benders did something since there was no Avatar around to stop them?
I would imagine that Bryke will continue being awesome and make both sides of the conflict fully developed. So your idea makes sense. I see the X-men connection but the sound of Republic City sound even more like Gotham than anything else. Heh, this is what I get for actually knowing about the series before it started. For TLA I saw a few episodes and thought to myself "there is no way this will stay on the, it's too awesome and complicated." Glad I was proven wrong!
Yeah, I loved how Avatar wasn't always a clear cut good vs evil thing. It definitely ended up being deeper than I thought it would be! You'd never expect the themes that came up in the show to be discussed on a kid's program, let alone a kid's program on Nickelodeon!
