(no subject)
Not sure how long it's been exactly, but I am the seneschal of my local SCA group. (The seneschal being the president of the group for thou non SCAdians).
Thus far, I don't feel as overwhelmed as I did previously. I have yet to actually make my first report... and the business meeting didn't quite go as planned, but I'll get the next one with an agenda/format to follow.
I feel like I have so many ideas and so many opportunities to get this Shire to grow.... and yet... I have no idea a lot of times where to start... and I tend to be so introverted and keep to myself that I forget I can cal those who have been seneschals before me...
I want to do right by the Shire... especially those that I've admired for their dedication and continual hard work and efforts on behalf of our small group. But we also need action in getting members and keeping them. I hope that I'm capable of doing so.
When I first became head of House Nighthawke, I had a meeting with the majority of our house and we adopted quite a few people into the house. I hope we can do the same into the Shire and I hope they are as wonderful as those that came into the house.
