This is how it works: Comment on this entry and get a letter.
Write ten words beginning with that letter, including an explanation what the word means to you and why.
1. Snickers- I never cared for Snickers. Not until I was fourteen or fifteen years old did I even finish one. I had some bizarre kind of prejudice against nuts of all kinds- bizarre because my existence was largely due to my liking of peanut butter. (My diet in those days consisted of pasta, a little light chicken now and then, shrimp, chili crispitos from the Marketplace, chocolate muffins, baked potatoes, occasionally broccoli with lots of butter, and peanut butter sandwiches- no jelly or honey or banana or any of those things you crazy people put on yours. To this day, I have met only one other person who prefers their peanut butter unmarred by other condiments.) After Halloween, the two girls up the street and I would dump our candy into a giant pile and divy it up based on who and whose mothers liked what.
2. Schadenfreude- My favorite foreign word. I know I've used it to death, but I have S and it would be wrong not to include "schadenfreude" in my list.
3. Sesame the Hamster- We once tried to rescue him from Jacky, who lived (and, presumably, should her awful mother and isolationist father not have tired of her theatrics yet, still lives) up the street. It didn't go well because, well, he was her hamster, no matter how terrible she was to him and the cats. (She made the hamster crawl up her skirt. She tried to get him to "nurse" on her nipples. This is one seriously deranged person in the making. I mean, come on, it wasn't like I just knew better because I was older- I would've thought that was weird even if I'd been five or six- which I was not.)
4. Sindy- What Simon has decided my name is. Whatever.
5. Sara- My baby doll- maybe the first one or maybe just the first one I really loved. I've had her from the time I was five or six- a Christmas, so I'm never quite sure.
6. Stellaluna- My favorite childhood book. Learned lots of shit about fruit bats from it, and also yay! for Greek roots.
7. Starsweeper- My mom watched "Lady and the Tramp" so many times she learned the words to this song so she could have it be special between us. Cute? I think so. Strange? Definitely.
8. Sledding- We always used to sled down the icy hill down the back slop behind the MSD access road. Then the asswipes moved in and put up a fence. Now we can't ger back there. Sadly.
9. Sledgehammer- what I most frequently wished for before we got this computer. Seriously, it may not be the best in the world, but ye gods does it tapdance circles around the other one.
10. Sporks- the best method of death ever.
