"Today is gonna be good" Josh yelled to me from the living room.
"Alright. why are you in such a good mood?" I questioned my hungover friend.
"Well last night shouldn't have happened and I'm going to Scott to talk about it" He spoke before entering into the bathroom to comb his hair.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure." He said with a smile entering into my room. "I know that Scott didn't mean to hurt me." He was wrong. Scott did mean to hurt him, just not that bad.
"Okay so you want me to drive you?" I asked him. Still regretting why I did in the first place.
"Yeah that'd be nice." He responded with a smile still plastered to his face.
The whole ride there felt like forever. I wished Josh luck and let him out of the car. I watched as he walked up to the door and knocked. Scott answered the door. They exchanged a few words and Scott let him in the house.
"So what are you doing here?" Scott asked Josh after a few minutes of sitting and waiting for him to speak.
"I thought you promised me that you were never going to hurt me Scott." Josh spoke with his mind set on all the confidence he could hold within himself.
"I did" Scott spoke with an ashamed look on his face.
"Then why did you take my heart out of my chest throw it onto the ground and stomp all over it?" Josh questioned, slightly yelling as anger shook throughout his body.
"I'm sorry..... I never meant to hurt you like that."
"Then why did you do it?" Josh spoke as tears began to sting at his baby blue eyes.
By this time I was beginning to think that everything was going fine. Just when I put the car into forward Josh ran out of the house and got into the car.
"Drive!" Josh said as tears ran down his cheeks. "Please" he spoke once more with a cracked and broken voice.
"Okay we're leaving." I told him and out a reassuring hand on top of his shoulder. "Do you wanna tell me what happened?" I asked, because I had never seen my best friend so hurt.
"No" Josh spoke quietly spoke as he grabbed my hand off his shoulder and held it. "Can we just go back to your place and watch a movie or something." He asked as I peeled out of Scott's driveway.
"Yeah, whatever you need bud." I told him as we drove back to my place.
Josh hopped out of the car and ran over to my door after telling me not to open it.
"Madame" he spoke. He used to do this all the time when we were in high school. He was my best friend and when he did this I knew he was just trying to prove to me that everything was going to be alright. He grabbed my hand and we walked up to the door. "I'm lucky I have you."
"And why is that" I asked him.
"Because you are amazing and you take care of me when I'm broken and need a shoulder to cry on. Thanks Gee." He responded as I opened the door and let us in.
He went straight to the sofa with my hand still in his. "Have a seat" he spoke.
"Alright, as long as we're not watching some horror film again." I told him. I was afraid of them and he used to make me watch them just so I would have something to complain about to him.
"Fine" He said sticking his tongue out at me.
I only ever had horror films in my house, because they were ones that he had bought for special occasions and always ended up making me watch them with him. I loved Josh with all my heart and that's why I had always agreed to bail him out of his issues and help him resolve them. At this point in Josh's life he just needed a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold, and a person to talk to. I just so happened to be that person. He was there like I was when I needed him as well. Josh was such a sweetheart and now was broken. We sat there and talked and ended up watching Toy Story 3. It seemed like Tomorrow was far out of our reach.
