Gaara x Naruto Fan Day 2013!
We are bringing back this tradition by popular demand!
Mark your calendars because this year we are celebrating fan day on Monday, July 29, 2013.
What is it?
It’s a day for us to celebrate our love of Naruto and Gaara, as friends or as our favorite romantic pairing. We encourage everyone to generate new fanworks and to bombard the internet with an outpouring of love for these two loveable ninja on the last Monday of July. I’ve seen all sorts of fanmade works over the years, but here are some examples of things you can contribute:
- Fanfiction
- Essays, manifestos: explain to the world in length why you love this pairing
- Poetry
- Fanart
- Comics: make new ones, or share doujinshi
- Crafts of various kinds: plushies, decorative items, anything you can think of to make, or share pictures of fannish items you've bought
- Cosplay: yours or others' you have pictures of to share
- Graphics: gifs, icons, wallpapers, banners, macros... (Be sure to get artist's permission if you're borrowing someone's work!)
- Fan OSTs (fanmixes)
- AMVs
- Sims screenshots
- Pic spams of official art, anime screenshots, etc.
How to Participate:
- First, help us by spreading the word! Let your friends know and get them involved!. Feel free to post the banner above to your social media sites.
- Want to contribute a banner? Feel free to leave a link below or contact me via PM. If Tumblr is more your thing, feel free to leave me a comment or ask at tasukigirl.tumblr.com.
- If you have suggestions or recommendations for communities, tumblrs, or deviantart groups that might be interested in participating, please leave a comment below. I would be delighted to reach out to them!
- On July 29th, post your work. You are not limited to Livejournal, however tagging your work will be important. Here are some suggestions below:
- LJ- Post to this community, tag "Fanday."
- Tumblr- Post with the tag "Naruto x Gaara Fan Day"
- Deviantart- I will be reaching out to Naruto x Gaara communities so they can make announcements and post suggestions. Stay tuned!
- Other- If you are posting to sites other then the three listed above, I will have a "submissions" post in place for that day. Comment with a link to your work so it can be included in a master list to be shared with everyone.
In the Meantime:
I will be posting activities and memes to help get the word out and to help our community build up momentum. So keep an eye out!
