Wow, great, powerful chapter. And you've brought some great insight into Derek's character. I never thought that 9/11 could have affected him like that. I mean people were changed by it, yes, but you don't really always think of it affecting a character.

Alright to I am really late on jumping into this fic, and I will be the first to admit that Merder are not my ship, but I rather enjoy this. And I thought I would comment here, because I share the same belief of how Addek ended... they just stopped, and it doesn't always take something to make it end. Also how they got together, I am imagining not some huge thing to do with love, just right place right time sort of thing.... and rambling. Nice work. I am off to go catch up.

Thanks! Mer/Der are actually an odd ship for me to support since I celebrated 11 years of marriage while season 2 aired,, but I think the best writing of the show was in season 1, and I got completely sucked into Mer/Der. Fought to try to support Addison/Derek, (except for the trust fund, sad to say, and the paycheck), but I'd already fallen. Needless to say, I'd prefer to think that the latter half of Season 3 is more Surgitory as Meredith hallucinates her way back from beyond the veil. I really do love Addie, except she got trashed like everyone else from Desire on.

For my own sanity, I'm having to narrow focus post-finale (you'll see when you get there. . .) and since Addison is written so much better by sweetnarcosis & others, I'm letting her go to LA as well. She deserves a new start without Derek and Mark, anyway.

They (sweetnarcosis and others) write her beautifully... and I think leaving is something she has to do any way. Most of the time I am hoping that the latter half of Season 3 is Meredith still dead and hallucinating.. and she will wake up in Season 4.. god wouldn't that be nice? I like your saying of the parody that aired on 5/17... so true.
