Chapter 11

Callie glanced over at George on the plane. He had dozed off sometime in the last fifteen minutes and she had just been watching him. He had no idea what he was in for. Three days of hell on earth with her family. She needed to prepare him, but she could not tell him everything he needed to know while he was asleep. “George?”

“Huh?” he asked opening his eyes.

“Sorry to wake you, but you need to be prepared.”

“It’s not like I’m going into war Cal.”

“Oh, but you are.”

She reached for her bag and pulled out a few snapshots. She pulled his tray table out and set the eight pictures down on it. “Alright, my dad owns three restaurants and my mother does the books and stays home with the kids. This is Hector, my father. Call him Mr. Torres at first, you’ll really impress him and then if he likes you he’ll tell you to call him Hector. If he doesn’t like you it will remain Mr. Torres.”

“How do I make him like me?”

“Simple, you’ve already done it.”

“Excuse me?” George asked rubbing the back of his neck.

“He’ll see how happy you make me in a matter of seconds and he’ll love you. Now my mother, Rosa,” Callie said pointing to the women in the photograph with her father. He noticed the roll of her tongue when she said her mother’s name. “AKA Mrs. Torres, call her that. It won’t change. She hates everyone having anything to do with me. I ruined her life.”

“Callie!”

“It’s the truth. Now, this is Alberto, he’s 20 and just started college. He took a year off to find himself…”

“Oh, that’s nice.”

“He took a year off to smoke pot George, but he’s cleaned his act up, which is good. He doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life. He played baseball in high school and he’s a neat freak. Daddy will probably make you room with him.”

“So your parents are those parents?” he asked.

“For sure,” Callie said sneaking in a kiss, “But I’ll sneak in to come see you,” she winked.

“Lets see how things go with your dad first? I don’t need him chasing me with a chain saw or something.”

“He doesn’t own a chain saw, now maybe his very old cast iron pots, yes. This is my brother Diego, He’s 14, a straight A student in school, he loves the theater and will completely turn out as gay as they come. I’ll be a very proud sister the day he comes out of the closet, which with my parents will be when he’s 40 and they are dead.”

“Callie!”

“Mario is 12 and a little punk. He’s a skateboarder who is all emo or something, isn’t that what the kids are calling it these days?”

“You sound old when you say that?”

“He really is a punk George and he has a mouth of him, worse then mine actually. He doesn’t talk much and if he does it’s about something fabulous he’s done. He’s a brat.”

“Pablo is 8 and he loves video games. He’s kinda mini-me of my dad. He loves to fish, but he loves to cook. He’ll end up taking over the family business one day, when he’s old enough. He’s a smarty pants and very kind. I bet you were a lot like him when you were younger.”

George blushed, “Thanks Callie.”

“And then you have Cinco, the final boy. Probably not their last child, since my parents don’t believe in birth control, idiots. He’s 2, he’ll actually be 3 on Saturday so you’ll experience a true Torres Family get together. They are insane. Cinco is cute though.”

“You have a 2 year old little brother?”

“I told you, my parents don’t believe in birth control.”

“Do you not believe in birth control and forgot to tell me?”

“I was so wrapped up in taking care of you, I forgot a few pills and it’s not like you remembered the condoms. I’m a firm believer in birth control, Baby O just happened because of…..Baby O is a gift George.”

“We’ve never used condoms, so how is this on me?”

“I know we haven’t, it’s just fun to not have to take the blame alone,” she giggled.

~*~*~

Callie took a deep breathe as they made their way through the airport. She held onto George’s hand tightly. “I need to stop and pee before we go meet them,” she said seeing the sign for the ladies room.

George nodded and stopped. He took her purse and kissed her cheek. He smiled watching her walk away from him. That morning, for the first time, she had worn the maternity clothes they had picked out two weeks earlier and she looked stunning. Under the red wrap around shirt, he could tell her belly was rounding out perfectly and the way her breasts filled the top…..three days not sleeping next to her would be hard when she looked like that.

She emerged a few minutes later and kissed his cheek, “My purse goes good with your outfit O’Malley,” she smiled.

‘Whatever,” he muttered taking her hand in his as they made their way toward the baggage claim where they were supposed to be meeting her family. “So are all of them coming?”

“Oh yes, all seven.”

“What does your father drive?”

“Who knows,” Callie shrugged.

“We’ll be okay Callie, we will. Me, you, Baby O, we’re a family. The three of us.”

“George, Callie and Baby O all the way,” she said kissing him softly. “Lets do this,” she whispered gripping his hand a little tighter.

~*~*~

Hector Torres saw his daughter approaching with some snot nosed boy she had met out in Seattle following her. He didn’t look like any of the boys Callie had dated while she lived at home and he had found his daughter, his princess, in many compromising positions he would rather not think twice about.

“Dude, when did Callie get fat?” Mario questioned watching his sister lean in to kiss George.

“Mario! She’s with child!” Rosa exclaimed slapping the young boy’s shoulder.

Hector shook his head. Sure, Callie was a grown women, but there was no way she was pregnant. Maybe it had been a joke when she had told them they would be grandparents. Something like the show his sons watched called ‘Punk’. As Callie approached with her boyfriend, he noticed he wasn’t being punked. His princess was glowing and showing. He knew the look all too well, but had never expected to see it on his Callie.

“Why can’t you just say she’s pregnant?” Alberto questioned looking at his sister.

“It sounds so…..” Rosa trailed off. “She’s not even married to him. She’s…..”

“Callie!” Hector exclaimed as soon as she was an arms length away. He pulled her into his arms and hugged her close, kissing the top of her head. “How are you? How was the flight? How are you feeling?”

“Daddy! One question at the time,” she whispered holding onto him tightly. “I’m fine, the flight was good. And in the how are you feeling is in reference to Baby O, I’m feeling great. So don’t worry.”

“Baby O?”

“Baby O’Malley,” she smiled laying a hand against her stomach. She continued to hug her mother and her brothers. “Everyone, this is George, my fiancé.”

George smiled and waved uncomfortable. Fourteen eyes bore into him and he didn’t like it. He wanted to place Callie in front of him as a shield, she could handle them. “And this is Baby O,” he said motioning to her stomach.

“Are you seriously going to name the kid that? Baby O O’Malley?” Pablo questioned.

“No Pablo, he’ll have a name once he’s born, but right now, we’re calling him Baby O. It’s a nickname,” Callie explained.
“Well that’s a relief,” Diego smiled. He went and stood next to Callie, he took her hand in his. “When are you coming home? I miss you.”

“I’m not coming home. Seattle, Seattle is great. George is in Seattle. My life is in Seattle. My job is there.”

He nodded, “When can I move to New York?”

“The day you turn 18. I’ll even buy your ticket. So how upset are Mom and Daddy over…” Callie trailed off looking down at her stomach as George watched for their bags.

“I’m think Mom’s exact words were, ‘I wonder if she knows who the father is’. Daddy just repeated not my princess over and over again. You do know they are expecting a wedding, right?”

Callie rolled her eyes, “I am engaged,” she smiled showing Diego the ring. “And the baby is totally George’s. So she can take that and shove it where the sun don’t shine.”

“Wouldn’t it be weird if after you have your baby Mom and Dad have another?”

“Then, we will officially be trailer trash.”

‘Calliope! I heard that remark!” Rosa exclaimed bouncing Cinco on her hip.

“Can doctors be trailer trash?”

“Good question, I guess we’ll find out if the fertility Gods strike again.”

Diego giggled. George retrieved their bags and they headed out to the parking lot. Hector helped George load their bags into the back of the massive SUV and the climbed in the first seat with Callie and Cinco, his car seat in between them.

“Jorge, donde trabajas\?” Rosa asked, her thick Spanish accent shinning through.

Callie rolled her eyes, “Mom, George took Latin in high school, he doesn’t know Spanish, use English please!” Callie exclaimed. She had no idea what language George had taken in high school, but they had been there less then an hour and she was ready to go back to Louise.

George racked his brain. He had taken three years of Spanish in high school. He knew how to write the language, it was a simple pattern, but speaking it was another story. “Yo trabaja en un hospital con Callie.”

“Muy interasante! Callie el habla Espanol asi asi.”

“Mom, leave him alone!” Callie exclaimed, feeling her phone buzz in her pocket. She pulled her phone out and saw it was a text message from Louise. She breathed a sigh of relief and quickly typed a response to Louise.

“You taught my mom how to use texting?” George asked.

“Someone has to keep me sane,” Callie whispered. ‘And you speaking Spanish to her is not helping my sanity or my blood pressure. I’m pregnant,” she said using her pouty lips.

“Stop!” George hissed at her. “Pouty lips are not allowed in the next three days, got it? And stop pulling the pregnant card, because by the time you actually will need it, I won’t believe you anymore.”

“You two are grossly in love,” Alberto called from the back of the SUV.

“And he’s better in bed then any girl you’ll ever get will be!” Callie shot back. “And George is a real man.”

“Yeah obviously, he knocked you up. But we all know you’re easy,” Alberto chuckled.

“Enough!” Hector yelled at his eldest two children.

“She had you whipped, huh Georgie boy?” Alberto asked.

“Before your sister I had ladies.”

“Yeah the two spawns of Satan,” Callie muttered.

“Are these spawns of Satan hot?” Alberto questioned.

“Hey, when did you find out about Olivia?”

“What?”

“Uhhh….”

“Oh my god. The syph nurse? Honestly! Where you that hard up to sleep with her? You had ladies alright, the ones in magazines,” Callie muttered.

“Those are the best, they don’t talk back,” Alberto grinned.

“Shut up and go fuck your blow up doll!”

“Fuu……fucck,” Cinco said playing his hands together.

Callie shook her head as she blushed, “See what a terrible influence she’ll be on your kids?” Alberto asked.

“You really shouldn’t say that in front of kids,” George scolded.

Callie glared at him, “And you should really use a condom when you sleep with the syph nurse.”

“Syph nurse was over waaaay before you walked into the picture. So don’t get all pissy with me.”

“The last guy Callie slept with before she left will be Cinco’s party Saturday. Don’t let her fool you, she’s not a saint,” Alberto explained. “She had crabs when she was like 24, she was in medical school at that point!”

“I was 19 and it was gonorrhea in the back of my throat thank you and shut your face. Maybe you and George can share your syph experiences.”

“Another day another bj.”

“Oh man, you can get that in your throat?” Diego asked. “And I thought I was safe.”

“See when you have oral….” Callie turned in her seat to face her little brother. “You’re supposed to use a dental…..”

“Calliope! Enough! Alberto! Enough! Both of you stop it right now. I have three days with my entire family and I would like to spend them peacefully. You two are not in high school anymore so cut it out.”

“Yes Daddy,” Callie said sweetly.

She watched as Cinco shoved one of his toys in George’s face and George pressed the buttons to make the toy talk and Cinco would giggle. He was going to be a great father. They arrived at the house a few minutes later. Hector got Callie and George’s bags and made Alberto take them upstairs to Callie’s to her bedroom and George’s to Alberto’s. Callie carried Cinco inside and looked around. Not much had changed in the short time she had been gone.

The living room was still that ugly bright orange color she had hated since they had moved here when she was a freshmen in high school. Her parents had never understood why she hated it so much, it was a culture. No, it was their culture, not hers. She had grown up in America. This was her culture, her life. Sure, being Hispanic was part of her heritage, but it wasn’t her culture per say.

“Fishes!” Cinco exclaimed seeing the box sitting on the counter top. Callie walked into the kitchen and poured some from the bag into her hand and held her palm open to her little brother, allowing him to pick the fishes up one by one and chew on them.

The kitchen was so emaculate considering how many people ate there for breakfast and dinner. A person just coming in would, who didn’t know them, would think it was probably just her mother and father, from the way her mother kept house, which was not a skill Callie had chosen to learn from her mother. That was how her family was, make sure all the dirty laundry is swept under the rug and never spoken of again.

~*~*~

Hector cleared his throat as he stepped up behind George and patted the young man on the shoulder, “George,” he greeted.

“Mr. Torres,” he said turning to face the older man, who had caught him going downstairs to check on Callie. It was odd hanging out with her brother. She was simply one of the guys around them. He had never seen her like this and it was odd to be with her family and have no idea what was allowed conversional topics and which ones you needed to steer clear from.

“Lets go for a walk down to the dock,” Hector said leading George down the steps and out the back door.

George followed in step with the older man as they followed a path into what seemed like the woods. This wasn’t good, woods were never good with strangers. No, Mr. Torres wasn’t a stranger, he was Callie’s father, his future father in law, but he hardly knew the man that was leading him into the woods.

Mr. Torres could kill him with his bear hands and him and the other five Torres-men could eat an O’Malley-man for dinner and Callie would never know. She would be alone, with the baby. No, she would have his mom. Yeah they could completely raise the baby together and remember him,

He shoved his hands in the pockets of his jeans, to hide their nervous shakes. They walked a few minutes longer before coming out onto a beautiful dock overlooking a huge pound. “So George, what type of doctor are you?” Hector questioned placing his hands on his lips.

“I’m a surgical intern right now. I haven’t picked a specialty, yet. I want to get my feet wet in all of them before I settle on one thing to do the rest of my life.”

“Callie knew she wanted orthopedics the minute she walked into med school. Let me tell you, she took all those boys to school. The only graduating female of the specialty, proudest day of my life. No one makes me prouder then my princess,” he grinned.

“Ortho’s pretty cool and Callie, she loves it. She’s damn good at it too. That’s how we met. I was an idiot and fell down the stairs, dislocating my shoulder. Here I was feeling all broken and she comes in, with her shinning personality and pops my shoulder back into place, without telling me she was going to do it first. Her reasoning, it hurts less when you don’t see it coming. She loves what she does, that’s for sure. Whatever I choose, I wanna be as happy as she is about it, whether I’m fixing hearts, delivering babies or breaking bones.”

“So in medical school….”

George looked over at the older man and waited for him to continue. “They don’t teach abstinence anymore?”

“Mr. Torres, Callie and I, we’re grown adults….”

“Obviously not. She’s visibly pregnant and she doesn’t have your last name.”

“We are getting married,” George said kicking at a rock.

“When?”

“That’s up to Callie.”

“She’s very good at putting things off.”

George shrugged, “She’s Callie, she does things on her own terms. Pushing her doesn’t work, cause she’ll push back 10 times harder. It’ll probably be sometime before the baby comes. That’s what she been hinting at anyways.”

“I’m surprised.”

“Why?”

“No reason.”

George shook his head and shuffled his feet. This was uncomfortable. He kept glancing over his shoulder, in search of Callie, to come and save him or reaching out for her hand that was supposed to be here. Hector cleared his throat after a few minutes, “She’s my oldest, but she’s my baby, you know? My only girl, my baby, my princess. When you become a father and you take that little person in your arms, it changes you. I can still remember the first time I held Callie. I had been pacing the waiting room and the doctor came out and handed me this little pink bundle, who was perfect, until she opened her mouth and let out a scream.”

George chuckled, “Well at least you know you didn’t bring the wrong baby home.”

“She was a beautiful baby who has turned into a beautiful women.”

“That she has.”

“I’m proud of her.”

“I am too, we’ve come a long way in our short time together. I love her more and more everyday I’m with her. I never thought it was possible to feel so much love toward one person, but I look at Callie and I see, I see my everything,” George admitted nervously.

Hector shook his head, “Callie has that power on men. She gets you wrapped around her finger without you knowing about it. And then when you realize it, she’s a pampered princess. She’s spoiled rotten, have you experienced a Callie tantrum yet?”

“No, all she ever really has to do is say ‘George’ is her sweet voice or use the pouty lips,” George smiled thinking of how hot she looked when she did those things. No, he could not be thinking about Callie and her hotness when he was standing three feet away from her father. He was probably a mind reader.

Hector shook his head and turned to look at the boy, no man, standing next to him. If he had never experienced a Callie tantrum, he was a lucky man or had him wrapped tighter around her finger then any other man before. That was usually how she sent the boyfriends she was tired of packing. She obviously loved George, a lot. It was written all over her face. “George, call me Hector.”

~*~*~

George stepped out onto the front porch and smiled at Callie who was sitting on the tire swing, swinging with Cinco, talking to him about something. He could have watched her forever and it wouldn’t have been long enough. “Your mom would like some help with dinner!” he called walking down the steps toward her.

Callie rolled her eyes, “She should know I’m not stepping foot in there until I have too.”

George shook his head as he stood against the large oak tree, “I don’t get it Callie.”

“I never asked you to get it. I told you, this is my life, take a look. This is where I came from George.”

“You act like this,” he motioned toward the house. “Is something to be ashamed of.”

“It’s a material possession George. It wasn’t always like this. We only moved here when I was a freshmen in high school. We have secrets, more secrets then my parents are willing to admit. They just sweep everything under the rug and forget it ever happened. Like this,” she pointed to her belly. “In two years time we’ll have been married before he was born and it he be an accepted lie. Just like I was a full term baby and born six weeks early. Accepted lies because no one wants to face up to the facts.”

“So you don’t like lies, I know that….”

“You just don’t get it. You grew up in the family I dreamed of having. My mom lied about her age, because she was an illegal immigrant. She lied and got pregnant with me, whom she didn’t even want, so she could stay in America because of the better opportunities. My dad only intended to stay married to her until she was a citizen, but he fell in love with her, how I don’t know. But she wanted to stay here because it is better, yet she tries to force fed you this culture, the language all your life. And you have no idea what it’s like to feel unwanted by your mother. She wanted Alberto and everyone following, but she didn’t want me George….” Callie whispered looking up at him, tears brimming her eyes.

He stepped closer to her and stilled the swing. He took Cinco from her lap, holding the little boy at his hip. He wrapped an arm around her, pulling her close to him. He leaned down placing a kiss on the top of her head as he felt her tears on his shirt. “I want you Callie,” he whispered stroking her hair.

“George, it’s not the same,” she sobbed.

“I know, but it’s the best I can give you.” He rubbed her back and lightly bounced Cinco at his hip as he tried to comfort Callie the best he could. “When my mother says she wishes you were her daughter, she means it. I know she isn’t your mother….”

“She makes this not hurt so much,” Callie whispered.

He pulled his arm from Callie and reached into the pocket of his jeans. He pulled out his phone and flipped it open, scrolling through his phonebook until he saw his mother’s number. “Hey Mom? I need a favor? Will you sing Callie the song you used to sing to me when I was little?”

George pressed the phone to her ear and listened. “Callie, what’s wrong?”

“I just hate being here, I wanna come home.”

“Honey, you’re coming home in a few days and I’m going to meet you at the airport and we’ll drop George off and go get coffee or something, alright?”

“I miss you.”

“I miss you too sweetie. But George asked a favor of me. I haven’t sung this song since George was 11 or 12 and had the flu. So here it goes,” Louise said clearing her throat. “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, when you’re not happy, my skies are grey. You’ll never know dear, how much I love you. So please don’t take my sunshine away.”

Callie sniffled and giggled as she leaned back into George. She could feel Louise’s fingers running through her hair and smiling as she sung the words, to George as a little boy, and to her right now. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. Feeling any better?”

“A little.”

“Good.” Callie spoke with Louise for a few more minutes before handing George his phone back. “Thank you,” she whispered.

“Don’t take my sunshine away Callie. We’ve only got 2 days left,” he said stroking her cheek.

“But we have to survive them and we….” She trailed off. “There’s a lot of stuff you’re going to find out about me, I never told you about. Because it was either unimportant or I’m not proud of it. Growing up in a house full of guys, some stuff happens during my college years….”

“We all have pasts Callie, don’t worry about it.”

“But George, there’s a lot of things I never told…..a lot.”

“Maybe there’s a lot you don’t know me about me.”

“George,” Callie said taking his hand and lacing their fingers together. She placed their hands on her stomach. “There was a lot of guys before you, but the only reason there was, was because I knew I wasn’t in love and at one point I was…….”

“Callie! George!! Dinner is ready!” Pablo called coming out onto the porch.

“We’ll be there in a minute,” Callie said sliding out of the swing. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.

“You are going to be fine, we are going to be fine, this will be over soon enough. Remember, we’re, the two and a half of us, we’re a family,” George reminded kissing the top of her head.

“I swear to god my children will never feel this way about coming home, never.”

“They won’t Callie.”

~*~*~

After dinner and baths for the kids Rosa tucked them all away in their rooms. Callie went upstairs to get changed and came back down in grey yoga pants and a black tank top. The round part of her belly was just sticking out from under the shirt. She sat down next to George and placed her head on his shoulder.

He wrapped an arm around her waist, placing his hand on her belly. “Are you trying to kill me?” he whispered.

“Slowly,” she winked snuggling closer into his side. She needed him right now.

“So when is the bebe due?”

“The end of September,” Callie answered.

“Are you having a boy or a girl?”

“We’re having a boy,” Callie replied. “We don’t know for sure, but I keep feeling boy.”

“I thought you would be a boy, so…..”

Callie rolled her eyes and laid an arm across George’s stomach, “Well George says it’s a girl, but he’s wrong.”

“I just want a girl,” he said stealing a kiss from her and winking at her.

“Mi hija, tu should watch your weight,” Rosa said. “You don’t want to be overly huge by the time the baby comes.”

George’s eyes got wide at the comment. Why was everyone picking on Callie’s pregnancy weight? And hell even before that? She didn’t need that right now. He had seen her chart and been to their appointments, she only weighted two pounds more then her initial visit with Addison, after losing eight pounds when she wasn’t eating because of the morning sickness. Frankly, as a doctor and as her fiancé, he was worried about the amount of weight she had yet to gain to have a healthy baby.

“Callie is perfect the way she is,” George said squeezing her hand.

“Jorge, do you want a fat wife?”

“Hector did apparently,” George muttered causing Callie to giggle and lean her head into his as they shared the joke Rosa was seething at. “I mean me and the twiggy girls never worked out and you’re…you’re hot.”

Callie blushed and giggled at his words, “I love you too.”

“I try.”
“And your hair, hija,” she said shaking her head.

“What about my hair?” Callie mumbled, knowing her mother would tell her what she thought whether she wanted to know or not. It was just how they worked.

“What have you done to it?”

“Hair products mother.”

“Well, stop using them!” Rosa exclaimed.

“What else can I do to please you?” Callie tossed out sarcastically.

“Finish your residency! You’ve only been working on it for four years!”

“And it takes seven! I spent one year as an intern and now I’m in my third year of residency. I can even operate by myself now and I haven’t killed anyone.”

“Should I be proud?”

“You never have been.”

“You’ve never done anything worth being proud of. You never follow through with anything. Ballet lessons, gymnastics, voice lessons, horse back riding, soccer, softball, should I continue?” Rosa asked.

“Why, is there more?”

“And your…..”

“Stop! You do not get to bring that up!” Callie yelled.

“You and George, you being a mother, it will only last until you get tired of it. Callie, you can’t get tried of being a wife and mother. You are stuck with the role. I bet you won’t even finish your residency.”

Callie shook her head as she pulled herself away from George. He reached for her, but she stepped away from his touch. He noticed her eyes were misting and that she was biting her lip, she always did that when she was trying not to cry, but needed to cry. He knew, he had put that look upon her face enough times.

“Not finish my residency? Get tried of being a mother and a wife? Maybe if you would pay a little bit of attention, you would see how much I love him. Maybe if you cared, you would have been the person I called when things were rocky. Maybe you’d know I would do anything for him, because I love him! He’s the only man I ever loved and I didn’t have to wait years to fall in love with him. He’s the best damn thing that has ever happened to me. And if I opt to be a stay at home mom for awhile, which I don’t plan on doing, because my child will be in competent hands with Louise I can go back and finish my residency, but I’ve worked too damn hard to come this far, with being a doctor and with to be with George, to give it all up!” Callie yelled, her voice cracking near the end.

She turned her chin up, trying not to let her mother see she was getting the best of her. Usually, she could stand here and go toe to toe with the women until Hector interrupted them. Being pregnant was taking a toll on her emotions. She couldn’t hold everything in the way she used too and she felt like she cried all the time. She headed up the stairs and saw Diego sitting on the top step. “What are you doing?” she asked softly, motioning for him to scoot over.

“Listening to you yell at Mom.”

Callie laughed as she sat down and wiped at her tears with the edge of her shirt, “Never get pregnant.”

“That would be a little hard Cal,” he said placing an arm around her.

“I know, my emotions are so crazy right now. I cry, a lot. I don’t cry.”

“George still loves you, crazy hormones and emotions or not.”

“Yeah, George does love me, finally.”

George stood and turned to go after Callie, but on second thought, he had something he needed to say. This was his job. He had done it with Izzie and he hated that he had to do it to the women who had given birth to the beautiful woman he loved, but Callie would never say what needed to be said. No, instead of smothering a fire, she would provide it with oxygen.

“Mrs. Torres, I hate to be rude or disrespectful, because my parents raised me better then that, but the things you say to Callie are completely out of line. She is you daughter. You gave her life and you sit there and criticize everything about her, without even asking questions. You’ve had a lot of kids and this is a time when she needs her mother, when she’s becoming one! Look, I know it isn’t under your perfect circumstances, but for Callie and I, this is perfect. From what she tells me, this goes a lot deeper then just her pregnancy She never shows pain, or fear, she’s either happy or you can’t tell how she’s feeling. She doesn’t need a lot of people in her life, but she needs a mother. Now, you have a choice to make in the next two days, will it be you, or will it be my mother? Cause, Callie, she’s already made her choice. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go check on her.”

Rosa shook her head, “Oh look at you, coming in for Callie when she can’t take it anymore. You better hang onto the back bone, young man, because my daughter will run all over you if you don’t. Look at her father.”
“He stuck up for you,” Diego smiled rubbing Callie’s arm.

“He did, and it’s not the first time,” Callie whispered.

“Good, you need someone to stick up for you.”

“I never needed anyone until him and it scares me,” she admitted.

George kneeled down in front of her and took her hands in his, “Need me all you want baby, I’m here to stay.”

“I’m fine,” she whispered.

“No, you aren’t. Come on, I know exactly what you need. Excuse us,” George said helping Callie to her feet. He led her down the hall and she pointed at the last door on his left. He nodded and opened the door, shocked at what he saw.

Two walls of the bedroom were purple and the other two an olive green, the white crown modeling standing out against each color. On one wall he noticed a set of French doors that were covered by pink and purple sheers, shelves of proclaim dolls resting on their side. Those dolls faces were scary, their eyes especially. He noticed the floor was done in a light hardwood that matched the rest of the furniture in the room.

A sleigh bed, covered by a pink and purple stripped blanket lay against the far wall with about a dozen pillows in all three colors of the room. On the next wall was a door, which was closed, a long chest of drawers that matched the color of the bed. The chest of drawers had a jewelry box and many different picture frames on it. Past the dresser was another door that was slightly opened, which looked to be her closet, he could see clothes all in the bottom of it.

Over in the corner sat a book shelf with an array of different books and pictures on it. He knew some of the books from medical school. Next to the book shelf was a computer desk, which actually looked like something Callie had added her own personal touch too. There were different colored sticky notes everywhere and it was in disarray. Computer bags were scattered about along with a few CD’s. The entertainment center across from the bed, housed the TV and stereo along with all her DVD’s and CD’s. Then he saw the collector comics sitting on top.

“You are kidding me,” George stated.

“Yeah, my dad hired a decorator to do my room and only my room. I hate it, but I’ve never had the heart to change it,” Callie shrugged.

“This is completely not you.”

“It has Callie touches everywhere. Like the sheets are red, which completely clashes with everything else. When I left there was a pile of dirty scrubs and my old lab coat in the middle of the floor, which is probably all stuffed in the closet if my mother sent one of my brothers in to clean.”

George nodded and sat down on the edge of the bed, pulling her into his arms before laying down with her, gently rubbing her back. “I know today was a rough day for you,” he whispered.

“I have you, I’m fine,” she mumbled into his shoulder.

“I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere.”

“You’re going to have too.”

“He can’t make me,” George teased.

“I’ll just throw a tantrum if I have too. I haven’t thrown one since the day I left, so it’ll be interesting to see if I still have it,” she smiled.

“There are way too many pillows,” George said tossing a few onto the floor, causing Callie to giggle. He threw one toward the door, just as Hector knocked and walked in. He caught the pillow and tossed it onto the floor with the others.

“Callie, George is staying with Alberto.”

“Daddy, George is staying with me.”

“Callie….” He said placing a hand on his hip.

“Daddy…” she replied arching an eye brow at him.

“You know the rules.”

“I’ve been breaking them since I was 17. It’s not like we aren’t having sex! We had a lot of sex and still are. And if George is down the hall…..I can’t have sex with him. I’m pregnant, I need sex,” Callie explained. She wondered how many times she would need to say sex before he gave up and left, not wanting to think of his princess doing such things.

“Calliope! George is sleeping with your brother and that is final.”

“Daddy, George doesn’t swing that way, I promise. Plus, I’ll be much happier if he stays here. You can twist the rules for me, your princess,” she said using her sweet voice and smiling at him.

“Callie, you know the rules. You have to set an example for your brothers. It’s not you I’m worried about, the damage is already done, it’s they have to know what the rules are and I have to enforce them with you.”

She ran her bottom lip out, she needed George and if worse came to worse, she would go kick Alberto out of his room. His bed was lumpy though and he knew how many STD’s were crawling on the sheets. “I’m engaged and pregnant. It’s like we’ll be doing anything we haven’t done unless George gets….” Callie was cut off by George placing his hand over her mouth.

“Stop, stop while you’re ahead, please?” he begged.

She ran her bottom lip out once again and began to sniffle, “Daddy…..”

“Please don’t cry.”

“Daddy!”

“Callie, please don’t cry, what if George stays with you until you fall asleep and then he goes to Alberto’s room. Will that make it better Princess?”

She shook her head and looked at him with her big brown eyes, which she bad brimming with fake tears. “I need George, Daddy, it’s been a terrible day and I fought with her. I’m tired and my back hurts. I need George to just hold me tonight.”

“Callie…..”

“Daddy, please?”

He sighed, “Fine, but you tell your mother he fell asleep in here watching a movie, understood?”

Callie hopped off the bed and walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing his cheek. “I love you Daddy, thank you.”

He sighed again and kissed the top of her head, “I love you too Princess. Sleep well.” He held onto Callie a little tighter and looked at George mouthing ‘no funny business’.

He left the two alone and Callie grinned, stretching her arms over her head. “That wasn’t even hard,” she said rubbing her belly. “And that is why we need to have boys, because a girl could do that to you without the tears…”

“I do want a girl though. It would be nice to just have a Daddy’s girl. Cause you’ll turn Baby O into a Momma’s boy.”

“He already is,” Callie winked.

“How do you just pour it on so thick? He caved within five minutes Callie…”

“Tears work on Dad’s,” she shrugged. “I got my way, which will benefit you as well.”

“Oh no, no way,” he said holding his hands up. “Do you manipulate me like that?”

“All women do, but you crack before I have too.”

“That’s good to know,” he said as she climbed back into bed. She snuggled up next to him and he wrapped his arms around her. “I love you, so much.”

“I love you too, but I need you to slow me.”

George sighed and ran his fingers through her hair. “Not tonight Callie. When we get home, I’ll show you all you want, but not in your parents house. Your dad has like super sonic sex detectors or something,” he said shaking his head.

“Do you know how many times I’ve had sex in this house and didn’t get caught?”

“A hell of a lot more times then you got caught.”

“Exactly,” she smiled.

They laid in silence for a few minutes. Callie’s breathing evened out and George assumed he was safe. His hand continued to rub her belly as he let his eyes drift shut. It had been a long day, dealing with Callie and her family. It hurt him that her mother hurt her. It wasn’t just a slight hurt, it was something she tried so hard to hide, but now she could hide no longer. She had to face it, with him by her side.

Just as George was drifting off to sleep, he felt her lips on his neck and her hands skimming down his sides. He reached for her hands and held them in his hands, “Callie,” he said using a firm voice with her.

“Yes?” she whispered in his ear before kissing his ear lobe.

He moaned softly, but tightened his grip of her wrists. He could not give it. It would be completely wrong to give in, but this was Callie-his Callie, who was sucking on his ear lobe and wanted sex. She wanted him to make love to her, to show her how much his words meant. She needed that after today, but for reason, with his father accepting her, he couldn’t do this, with her.

“We shouldn’t do this.”

Callie heard his words, but chose to ignore them. She needed him. She needed to know that someone in the world loved her and cared about her. That she had claim to one person. Her hand slid into his boxers, cupping his member in her hand.

Her fingers slid over his length, bringing him to life. He could try to fight her, but it was easier, just to lay there and take whatever she chose to put out and try not to think about her father walking in on them.

She grinned against his neck as she continued to trail kisses over his sensitive flesh and her hand stroked his growing hardness in an up and down motion. His entire body was reacting to her, but he was trying to hide it. His breathing was increasing, “George, it’s okay,” she said seductively.

“No….no….not okay….” He trailed off, trying to form words when she was doing things like she was with her hands and her mouth.

She slowly slid down his body, trailing kisses down his chest. She let her tongue flick around his nipples, causing him to hiss. Her free hand pulled at his boxers and before George knew it, her sweet mouth was wrapped around him, causing millions of new sensations to run through his body.

His eyes trailed down where he usually would have seen the top of her head, but instead he saw the blanket. He closed his eyes and let his mouth open, letting out a slight moan. He had to say quiet. He could not give away what they were doing. She would probably hate him forever. “Callie…..baby…..my god….” He moaned into the darkness.

Her tongue slid up one side of his shaft and down the other before encircling his tip once again. Her motions were driving him crazy as he began to thrust into her mouth. Callie placed her hands on his thighs, trying to keep him at bay. He was getting close and she was going to let him find his release. She sucked harder and listened to his breathing, before removing one hand from his thigh and cupping his balls in her hand, gently massaging him and pushing him over the edge.

Once she had accepted all he had to offer, she laid her head agonist his stomach, allowing him to catch his breathe. His fingers slipped under the blanket and gently massaged the top of her head, “What are you still doing down there?”

She giggled and slowly snaked out from under the blankets. She kissed his lips softly before rolling back onto the side of the bed, turning her body away from him. He said nothing as he listened to the draw open and then close. What the hell was she doing over there?

She rolled back over and straddled his waist, he noticed though that her hand was closed. He watched as she slid a hand in between her legs and something turned on. Damn, he wished the light was on. “Callie, what are you doing? I should be doing that,” he whispered.

She shook her head before a small moan escaped her lips, the vibrations causing her to squirm. “I have a plan, just give me a minute.” He tried to slid his hand in between them, but his gripped his wrist with her free hand and held it tightly.

He sighed, realizing that he had no choice, but to comply with whatever she wished for. He watched as her fingers slid inside of herself. That was where his were supposed to be. The small vibrator pressed against her clit, causing her body to shiver. He placed his hands on her thighs and gently massaged the inside of them.

Callie’s head tossed back, her long hair brushing against her back. George’s slight touch drove her crazy. She slipped her fingers out of her body and held them to his mouth as she slid down onto him, slowly taking all of him. He accept the two fingers she offered and licked them clean as he watched her settle onto him.

She leaned down and kissed his lips roughly as picked up her tempo. It was one George had never experienced with her, it was rough and it was hard. He brought his hands up to play with her nipples; wanting her to cum before he did again. The way she was moving though, was quickly sending him to that point again though.

Callie began to tense around him, feeling his hands on her very tender flesh. “Oh god,” she whispered against his lips. George smiled as he watched her body begin to shake and her muscles contracted around his cock, suffocating him almost. He lost control seconds after she did, exploding inside of her.

She rolled onto her side and tried to catch her breathe. He heard the draw open, her drop the item inside and then it closed again. He glanced over at her, her hands were on top of her stomach as her eyes closed slightly. “You okay?” he asked brushing her hair out of her face.

She nodded and curled up in his arms. With him, she felt safe, secure and loved. She didn’t have to doubt herself most days. He was there and he would support her. With him, she could survive anything, including her family. His arms wrapped around her, holding her closer to him. He placed a kiss on her forehead. “I love you Callie and I’m never going to stop.”

“I love you too George.”
