Writer's Block: Legends of Rock

Dec 06, 2008 15:33

If the Hannah Montana ANYTHING goes down in musical history as a legendary experience, I officially submit that I've lost every shered of faith in humanity. Its a little early in the day to be putting some Disney media concoction among the cultural significange of Woodstock. I mean, one was a celebration of free love and the music of a generation...the other is one of the most commercialized, product placement heavy soccker mom specticles there ever was. Perspective, please.

That said, I had the luxury of going to see Radiohead play a few months back, and it was as close to a transendent experience as I've had. Granted it was raining, we were an hour late, and the beer was stale and overpriced...but I've never seen a performance so fantastic and lovely. I skipped my graduation to do so, and it was the best decision I could have made.
