Free time spent: Playing soccer, shopping on the ave [university way ne], and painting.
Best find?
Recently I found three pairs of old lady shoes for about $6 at the Goodwill on the ave. I got yellow flats, yellow heels, and maroon heels.
Have you felt the recession?
Definitely, I graduate this June and the job market is horrible- it's been kind of a bummer.
Favorite thrift store?
Lifelong AIDS Alliance thrift store in Capital Hill, I used to work there and got most of my clothes there, and all the proceeds go to the AIDS Alliance.
How are you going to tackle the world after you graduate?
[laughs] I'm actually planning on going abroad until the economy gets better.
Where?
I might do the WWOOF - World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms program in New Zealand and live and work on a farm for free for a while. Or I could work on a winery. I might go pick grapes for a while... that'd be fun.

Tojo Andrianariuo,

Hometown: Davis, California
Favorite place on Earth: Kenya
Have you felt effects of the economy?
Well, I lost my job because of it. I was working at the American Industry of Architects and they just said they didn't need me anymore. Also, I'm a graduate student and was supposed to get funding for being a teacher assistant and they don't have any money for that anymore.
What's next after school?
Not sure if I really want to stay here. As a whole people are really passive-aggressive and sometimes that makes me feel like I can't totally be myself here.
Favorite place to shop: H&M
Where do you buy your groceries?
Safeway-- I love my Safeway card and the discounts I get. I buy cheap stuff like Rice-A-Roni.

Have you felt any effects of the recession?
I don't buy as many clothes at all.
Last purchase?
A beige pea coat I got in Japan in March.

How's your pocket book these days?
I haven't been as affected as most people, I'm very fortunate to be financially stable and working a couple of jobs.
You said you're working a couple of jobs, what is the most interesting one?
A little league umpire. I played a lot as a kid so it's almost surreal to be back in the game, it's kind like a time warp.
