Spinner lie awake that night, like he did every night recently.
He had used the L word that night. Several times. And he had asked Marco to move in.
Under most circumstances, this would be odd, seeing as he still lived with his mother... But Marco had been disowned by his parents. And Spinner loved having him around. Spinner loved him.
He had his arms around a pillow. He missed sharing his bed. He told himself that that was the only reason he had asked Marco to move in. He wanted to share his bed again, he wanted to share his body heat with another.
But wasn't that a part of love, wanting to share everything with the other person? Even heat, air, life itself?
But he didn't want Marco to lose Paige. He didn't want his need to have Marco with him to effect Marco's friendships. He having no one but Marco was hard enough, he could at least let Marco keep his friends.
He didn't ever want to hurt Marco in any way. Ever.
But as he lie in bed, thinking about Marco's mouth on his, Marco's statement of love, Marco's whispered promise to never leave him, he hugged his extra pillow tighter, and wished that it could hug him back, and whisper a sweet goodnight.
