Ahh, LJ, never let me down...
So. Because I have a perm account, I had a gift certificate (see the latest news post) which I refused to not use, because I plan on using every bit of money they toss my way (even if yay, it was only $1 (although I actually had 2, and I'm not really sure where the other one came from...)) -- not going to let them have anything for free...
Anyway, I sent one to leviathanmuse because she's silly, and the other one to my Peter Petrelli pup LJ because I'm silly Claude wants Peter to know what real beer is. And two other pup LJ's got e-mails saying that Peter had been sent a v-gift!
I thought this was really weird, and wondered if it was because I'd sent it anonymously, those two LJ's are on his f-list, and they all share my e-mail.
HOWEVER, someone commented in the news post that "some of us were set up to get email notifications when someone on our flist receives [a v-gift]" and that's when it hit me.
BOTH of those pup LJ's were the most recent ones I created, and I did NOT change any settings on notifications off the default. Not only does LJ ignore your account level setting when you create a new LJ (even when you click on "Basic" it automatically makes you "Plus"), new LJ's are automatically set up to be notified when a friend gets a v-gift. Yay for unexpected spam e-mail!
*sigh* *changes settings*
Randomly, the box has landed -- too bad Lush packed it so that things ended up on their side when it shipped. I'm going to have to scrape my shower jellies into the other tubs and stuff 'em in the freezer to reconstitute the bits... And I didn't get either moisturizer sample I asked for. At least I have my face cleanser now -- yay! :D I still can't stand UPS.
