We have windows. We do not, however, have venetian blinds. They might (I hope) be putting them up tomorrow. I don't know. I don't trust them to remember they need to.
We have a futon frame with a bedspring and mattress on it. It scares me. It's huge. I'm going to dream I'm falling off it.
We have 600 thread-count royal blue sheets and pillowcases. We wanted to find cute Halloween sheets, but didn't have any luck. And all the 800 thread-count sheets were in the most hideous colours (but oh did they feel nice...). The ones we got feel nice, too, though, so it's all good.
Oh yeah. And we had the comforter cleaned, but we didn't ask for no fabric softener, so it stinks to high heaven and we've got it draped over things right now to hopefully air out a bit. Whew!
And I have the most amazing bunch of aches and pains. My elbow is so sore that the pain is travelling down my forearm, and when I try to hold things in that hand, it either hurts like hell or I can't find enough strength in my hand to do it. I think I pulled something. My whole body is sore from lugging, hauling, etc. BUT, the old futon is gone, and the old ratty foam pads are also gone.
I have to try and find some extra thumbtacks, because
leviathanmuse wants to put something over the window in the bedroom. It's bugging her.
Me, I just get freaked out by the huge bed (I'm so not used to a bed I'll have to climb onto...). The window's a bit weird -- being able to see all the way down the line of the block is definitely odd.
This is the bed and the window (and some of the stuff on the shelves, etc. I haven't put other stuff back on the bricks and boards at the head of the bed because we don't want them knocking them off with the blinds. You can see the blinds standing up to the left. *sigh*
That kind of vague thing outside the window, to the left side? Looks like white bars? That's the neighbor's balcony. Okay, so yeah, maybe I am a little weirded out by having no blinds. I keep forgetting how close their balcony is...
Oh -- and the quilt is what we're using until the comforter is aired out -- it's rather more colourful than I'd expected -- from the image I saw when I was buying it, there was more purple. But it's very... um. Plaid.
