Metaphysics

Living things in Thallassia are composed of  three separate parts; a physical body, a soul, and a spirit. Bodies were originally created by Andrül and are reproduced through reproduction. Souls are fragments of the orignal soul of Ankron they animate the body and are imparted at birth by Myshara. The spirit is the being's consciousness and emerges from the union of soul and body.

When death occurs the soul returns to Myshara, who reincarnates it into a new being. Souls retain extremely vague impressions of their previous lifes. The spirit of animals become spirits in the Dreamlands. Human pass on either to become a spirit inhabiting the Dreamlands, dwelling with Andrül or Myshara in their realms, or in Gond serving the Shining Ones. This depends for the most part on the persons religous practices in life. Dragons and their descendents always become spirits of the Dreamlands regardless of their living practices.
