AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Hurricane Katrina totally kicked South Florida's ass. There were close to 1.5 million people without power and since it's Florida it's Balls-Stuck-to-Your-Leg hot here. So who do all these hot, angry floridians call to berate? ME! When there's no AC or TV the only thing these people can do to pass the time is to incessantly call me and yell at me. I've worked 4 consecutive 12 hour shifts and up until today I didn't have power either. So I can honestly say I am the most miserable person in Miami because I get the worst of both worlds. All the heat at night, and all the pissed off people during the day. This part time job has turned into a fucking 48 hour marathon of rage. And me with no weed... I haven't had a day off and I probably WONT have a day off until NEXT Sunday. I'm in from 2pm to 2am tomorrow.
The Hurricane was pretty great tho. I had an incredible insomnia for a week before the storm hit so I was already feeling a bit insane. Once the power went out I laid on my couch and put a Bach cd in my battery operated radio and as I looked out of the sliding glass door I watched the wind blow the trees violently while the lightning lit the trees from behind. With the sheets of water running down the sliding glass door it looked like a weird distorted modern dance with lightning and exploding transformers lighting them from behind. I've never been as close to insanity as I was then. Wierd.
So of course the only trees that get blown over in my back yard are the 2 pine trees, the only ones I liked. Right now we've got piles of leaves, branches and roofing tiles sitting at the bottom of the pool. For a minor storm it totally destroyed some areas here. I'm glad things will be going back to normal soon, but some places around here won't be repaired for months.
Oh, and we've got like 2 more hurricanes building strength possibly coming after us.
Fuck.
Oh, well, at least we're not Louisiana or Alabama. Katrina is fucking HUGE now. So I guess we were lucky.
