Roughing it in paradise

Alright, don't panic, nobody worry..I'm not about to type out a load of text again that you have to wade through to get to the stuff you care about...instead, I'm going to show you some of the better pics I've taken over the past 10 days or so...just a little taste as per what we've been getting up to!

First, and what seems like quite a while ago, was our brief visit to Sydney so that Keller could see the most famous sights of Australia:

Me v.s. Opera house

Harbour Bridge at night...what a beauty

From Sydney we made our way to Bangkok....it's a crazy big city with tons of cars, buses, bikes, tuk-tuks, weird smells and foreign language (even the mcdonalds signs!).

This is near our hostel, but about 20 kms out of downtown...still crazy,

the famous 3 wheeled tuktuks!

mcdonalds in Thai

We rode the main river in Bangkok to the royal palace and some of the most grand temples there are to see

One of hundreds of temples...one of which housed the below; the world's largest reclining Buddha

part of a shrine

monks everywhere!

And yes, there was the sleezy side too...what an original name for a bar!

Did we mention Muay Thai Kickboxing?! helllll yeah!

After that we went to see some of the more ancient temples (some might even call them "ruins"...in fact, most would.):

Keller sure is handsome, eh ladies!...always ruining pictures...

There were about 20 elephants at this place (Ayuthaya)

From Bangkok we head, by bus to a place called Bann Krut (or Ban Kruit), here are pics from on the way and when we were there. (this is the place we literally had all to ourselves...it can house up to 250 ppl..and it was just us two!)

On the bus through rural thailand

the veranda out the resort...just beside the pool

On the beach (while not a bright sunny day, we still got sunburns in the 40+ degree day

beach front view

on a mountain overlooking our beach was this maaasssiiivvee temple, accompanied by the 15m tall buddha seen below it which overlooked the sea; as to protect the fishermen.

This is a view from the temple looking at the beach our resort was on.

the view from the other direction

From Bann Krut, we made our way to the island of Koh Tao (turtle Island) after a brief (and sketchy) hiatus in Chumpong. You cannot put into words how perfect this place is....the waters are crystal clear, the beaches white and sandy, its about 30 degrees everyday and really sunny, those oldschool thai boats you always see on brochures or postcards are actually all over the beach...so cool. There will be MANY more pics, but this is where we are right now on our trip! so this will be the end of new pics!

taking the boat out to the ocean through a fishing village at dawn

fishing boats on the horizon.

I will warn you, this is beautiful; better than most postcards: Here is the view to the Left and Right (respectively) from our private bungalow, pictured third...you have been warned:

Canada represent, round the world. Sunset over the hills in the back.

And yes, there were sunburns (this is both keller, but I assure you, my face and arms are really bad too)

There will be a few more pics on http://www.photobucket.com (search g_mills and go to 'thailand') but I have about 400 on my camera which I will sort through at a later date...these have just been the highlights,

hope you enjoyed, and I hope to have new pics up in about a week,

keep it real homeboys and homegirls,

one love,

Graeme (and Keller); roughing it in paradise.
