Still here. Between broken water supply lines, bad valves and a hose that won’t stay connected, our refridge has buckled our wood floor in the kitchen. We now must go outside to get into the garage because the door won’t clear the swollen, misshapen floor. The closet door has fallen off the laundry room and a critical part to re-hang it has come up missing. Ants continue to cohabitate our bathroom. The truck shuts off when you move the adjustable steering wheel and the air conditioning makes an awful noise. The passenger window in the car must be coaxed into the closed position and the brake shoes need replacing. The lawn needs cutting but that is hard to do between lightning strikes. The trailer never got plugged in after our last trip and the battery died, spoiling over a hundred dollars of meat and food in the fridge (don’t ask about the smell). I didn’t sleep last night because the dog, internal clock reset to California time by Valium (made necessary by the repeated lightning strikes), insisted on several early morning (and I do mean early) bathroom trips and garbage can raids (which I cannot hide in the garage unless I too go outside). My knee hurts even though I didn’t do anything to it and I pulled a muscle in my neck looking for the part to the closet door under the dryer (the door still leans against the wall, not on its track). The toilet flapper chains keep coming off the pull levers (yep, in both bathrooms). And the fridge needs a new light bulb (no, it doesn’t stay on even when you open the door).
But, things are still good. Been camping with my brother (annual trip with him scratched off an ever increasing list of things to do). Been trail riding with the boy. We have two new bunnies, thanks to the boy (two dollars at the fair) and our neighbor girl (a real sweety, bless her heart) who bought one from a more expensive vendor (“I’m buying M a bunny Mom!"). J is wonderful, taking the calamities in stride and being just a terrific Mom and Wife.
Big trip to Escanaba (after we get the truck fixed, no air anymore cause we are just rerouting the belt instead of replacing the compressor in which the bearings have given up bearing) and another trail trip in the offing soon. Back at ya later!
