For one, Writer's block is similar to a poll, thus I call it a poll. ;)
Second, no. Religion and cult are similar in some ways, but they are not the same thing. So please, do not try and reference definitions, I'm very aware of what the differences are as well as the similarities (having such be a line of my study in school).
Cult also includes: a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.
Religion also includes: something one believes in and follows devotedly; a point or matter of ethics or conscience
A selective (usually underground and strict) structured group versus a single human's devote belief. Cults are usually based around religion, does not make all religion a cult.
Thirdly, I'm not "offended" by this. Most of my friends are of various faiths as well as many without faith. I have nothing against Atheists as long as they can respect that I DO have faith. I don't talk about it with them, and more often then not love discussing all the silly loopholes in the other mainstream/world religions. You believe what you believe. It is, after all, YOUR CHOICE.
