Update!
Well...it's been quite a few months since I've posted here...my apologies. The whole Air Force thing is going quite well...basic training was pretty intense but not really that bad. I got Honor Graduate and Expert Marksman (50 out of 50 in the silhouette) so that was cool. You should see all of the push-ups, sit-ups and running I can do now! My best for push-ups is 63 in one minute. I run a 5k every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings too.
Right now I'm at Sheppard AFB, TX learning everything there is to know about the F-16 (I have a 97% average now at the halfway point) before I actually get to work on operational aircraft starting in November when we ship out for Luke AFB, AZ (Phoenix). I should be able to hang out with Dave and Seth while I'm there so that will be some good times for sure.
After a month at Luke I'll be back home and working at the Springfield Air Guard base full-time for 30 work days before I go to traditional guard status (one weekend a month, and one 2 week TDY per year). I've been told I will NEVER be deployed (unless I volunteer I guess) since my base is a formal training unit in AETC. I could still be called up though for other reasons but it won't be like what all the Army National Guard guys have to go thru all the time and are going to Iraq and whatnot.
I'll be living with my Mom and stepdad until I start back to work at OSU in mid-January or so. Hopefully I'll even have a house up there and I'll also be getting a car...a Subaru of course!
I haven't had a chance to catch up on everyone's livejournal pages yet, but I will be doing that as I can in between classes, PT, errands, and studying.
I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to seeing you all again in just a few months! I'm already excited for the Christmas party! Hehehe... Later civies!
