14. Not quite gratuitous, but close

Sometimes, you just feel the need for short and sweet. In the spirit of that, two things:

First, I broke down and did it. Too many entries where I'm bemoaning my lack of icon options, and frankly I'm just tired of hearing me whine about it. So I dropped money for a year. Now I'll just be whining as I try to find suitable icons to fill the other 11 spaces I have, until such time as I fill those spots, feel antsy about not having even more, and then whine and fret about the decision to spend /more/ money to up my options to fifty. Hopefully, for the general public, most of this hemming and hawing will happen off-screen.

Second, in the spirit of getting out of the house and not letting myself brood, I went off and raided one of the local used record stores yesterday. When you strip back all the excuses and all the explanations, I'm simply a junky for good music; I can't get enough of it. And if you've never done it, it's an oddly meditative experience to flip through hundreds of CDs in search of little lost gems that you've forgotten you liked, or an album you've heard someone else praise and were curious about. Especially if you go through the vast unsorted wasteland that is the unsorted discount bins. I came away having not found everything I went in looking for, but with a couple of successes in the 'actively searching for' column, a few surprises I hadn't even thought of having until I found them, and one utter indulgence that I couldn't pass up out of the bargain bin. All in all, a pretty good quest.
